Really? I've tried both the Mr S and Mr T ones and both of them are basically just white sweet onions with vinegar poured on.My mum used to make her own and you have to let them stew a while with pickling spices..:rolleyes:1carminestocky wrote: »

I'm obviously no pickled onion expert but I really liked the taste and thought they were pretty strong

The pickled onions taste fine but they are not as crunchy as a picked onion should be, but for the price I am not complaining!Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0

Has anyone else tried the new receipe Tomato Ketchup. Tastes like the runny cheap crap the other stores bottle up, previously it was thick and tasted like Heinz. Cost cutting I guess but a real shame.0

The basic prawns are not a great deal cheaper than the normal ones but every penny helps and there is nothing at all wrong with them. I buy them every time.

I wasn't worried about the prices going up. Things I like are the apples - 9 small apples in a bag, lovely and crunchy and sweet.
Milk and white chocolate - by far the best 'cheap' chocolate I've tried, nice and creamy
Jaffa cakes
Pack of 6 mini rolls, I get the plain ones with raspberry and cream in.

Also in Bath, so looks like a national thing. Oh well, might go back down again at some point!
The only Basics thing I've had which I probably won't buy again is the Fruit & Fibre - there really isn't a lot of fruit in it (and they use sultanas rather than raisins which I don't like!), and as it's not that much cheaper than the own-brand (which I usually get), I think I'll stick with that in future.0 -
