Not really the same but as a kid I can remember my mum having no money and very little in the cupboards and she would dish up soup and mash, we always knew when things were bad when the soup and mash came out lol.0

I have heard of that, soup and chips, I think its a north of Watford Gap thing, like chips with cheese, Chips and Mushy Peas, Chips and Curry Sauce.
I'm hungry now.....
I am in the North West but never heard of that one. Have heard of 'Kirby cuisine' which is Pot Noodle on chips......bleurgh0 -
We did soup n'spuds - bowl of soup with leftover mashed potato in the middle. Yum.0

soup & chips yum. We used to have oxtail soup or chicken soup over our chips. From what i can gather its a northern thing but it might be restricted to a few areas lol. My friend was horrified when I said that we were having it for tea that night. It tastes soooo much better than it sounds so I'd say if you haven't tried it before give it a go.
Hugs
HelenWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
