d/d runs from apr 28 to jan28 over 10 months except for a few rules. if you start your d/d after apr the payments will run till feb28. if there is a reassessment or a new bill issued your d/d will recalculate and continue to lift till feb28.

check when your first started paying and this may make it slightly clearer for you.

    Hope this helps a little.;)

The LPS Rates Calculator now seems like it's been updated for the new rates year

    Thanks for this Andrew

Turns out my bill is for £1905.88 for next year instead of the £1869.61 that was quoted before  not good news in any case since rates for last year were £1225.60.

I just checked the transitional relief website as well and I have just realised that this is the first of three rates hikes which will presumably leave us paying over £3k rates by 2010

Off to look for a second job...never thought I'd be wishing they'd brought in poll tax here...

**edit** Andrew just noticed your post about water rates. Any ideas yet what kind of money these might be?

You see the Total Rate 0.006031

Multiply it by your Capital Value which is 260 000

And the total is what your rates are for the year

    I got £ 1568.06

I dont know what I'm missing but Andrew seems to be working out something else
