The Rates Calculator on the LPS Site is working to 2007/2008 figures.

To get your figure for 2008/2009 you need to multiply the Capital Value of your property by the total domestic rate in the pound for the Council area you live in and I don't see these new 'Poundages' published online yet?

Just checking with you on this. Last year we paid rates of 10 x £122.56 = £1225.60 total. When I do the search on the website it's quoting £1869.61 as our annual rates, £644 more. So I was assuming this was 08/09 calculations. Has anyone else tried it?

Also remember the effects of the decrease in 'transitional relief' which will result in a rates hike for some. http://www.lpsni.gov.uk/index/rating/billing/getting_help_with_your_rates/transitional_relief.htm

Calculation on website only applies to standard accounts and transitional relief is not taken in account.know bills are due to hit the streets around 7th April. If anyone wants a list of the new poundages visit the doe website to find more info.

Cheqmate06, being a member of staff also, can I just air you on the side of caution and warn you that we are not allowed to give advice online or give out any details even in pm's

I was pulled over the coals before about this site in particular, and had to delete any info I provided last year and the year before

My advice to anyone looking info please email LPS rating direct

    Thanks

    Hi Cathy

What i meant was i can provide details on poundages for 2008/2009 and these can be found freely on the DOE website.

If anyone had queries that need to be sorted in greater detail i would then as correctly stated ask them to contact LPS directly.

Are there exceptions? I just checked my online banking and my rates DD came out 29th Feb???

Teerah that will be the last payment for this Rates Year.
Rates run April - January or May - February inclusive.
The fact you've been Direct Debited for February 2008 suggests either your first payment was May 2007 or there was an account change (eg. payment method, which generated a new bill and re-calculated your DD). Either way its still the same amount you're paying over the 12 months.
