Brilliant - so glad!!
Got a tip... re the eye shadows..............
If you apply them - may be a bit heavily, on a dark morning (like today), you may find that later, when you look in the mirror, you have dark streaks all over your face ..not a good look. I was a tad cavalier in my approach to applying them and eye liner this morning and obviously the colours went everywhere - but I didn't notice til later..

Good to hear the make up lasted at the wedding Rachie B. Today is my first 'full day' wearing it at work so I will see how it lasts, I think it should be pretty good though, I wore it all day yesterday without touch ups, although I think the lunchtime drinks probably prevented me from noticing if I needed to redo my face!!
jeannieblue - I was thinking, re. keeping the cream out of your hair, I use a cotton elastic 'alice band' thing to keep my hair off my face when I wash it, would this work overnight for you? (It's like a giant hairband, if that makes sense?)
The rest of my goodies (comfrey cream, face wash & organic day cream) arrived today - like a mini Xmas in my office now!!Proud to be a moneysaver0 -

) is (so they said) found in the Viridian comfrey ointment, which why I went for that brand and Elemental Beauty use it in their healing mineral make up, which is why I chose them. I had tried Sheer Cover and Lily Lolo first, but they made me itch!! I have very very temperamental skin!
I don't think that anyone has ever tested allantoin for efficacy. Being as it is only used in low levels in cosmetics and is one of those chemicals that pops up in biochemical pathways from time to time it must be safe. I have used in several formulations in the past but I have never seen any benefit from using it. I have decided to stop using it until someone proves it does something.
I don't know much about Elemental Beauty but looking at their website they seem to only use the minimum number of ingredients, with the single exception of allantoin. On the whole I think that sticking to simple formulations is advisable when you have sensitive skin. Is the allantoin the thing that makes EB better for you? Maybe, but I doubt it. I would bet on it being some additive in the other products that is the culprit. I don't suppose you could get them to make you a sample without allantoin to try?Student of the science of beauty0 -
i have started using the comfrey and thank-you jeannieblue....it is amazing...my skin is not completly clear, but it is the clearest it has been in a long time and it has dried out the few spots that were coming out...my skin can have awful spots that become like little pressure points and then end up scarring, but now, the spots have started to diminsh so HUGE thank-you!!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. But that's the whole point - they do a foundation that's not got allantoin in - we used it - didn't suit as well as the healing foundation and thats why jeanie hunted down the comfrey (udder cream was too much even for her to ask for :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: )
Many of us rosecara sufferers have gone to mineral make up because of the promise of great coverage but many of us are being very irritated by it, I struggled with the itch that bare minerals gave becasue I thought that all minerals were the same - jane iredale also makes me sore, others arent as "pure" so cause caking and dont cover the red. Finally some of us are finding that the EB healing foundation is doing what it says on the tin. I love it so much that I often sleep in it when my skin is really sore/patchy/flaky/scaley worst because it really does improve it over night, I dont wear make up everyday, I live out in the country and dont work every week so no need - and my face always looks worse the weeks I dont wear it - good job the cows cant complain :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

But it is what this site is all about - sharing ideas and tips etc.
I'm sitting here watching 'celeb get me out here' - lightly smeared with my comfrey- I still recommend that brand of comfrey for it is rich in the allantoin.

I have shared that, I am not an expert, and if others find it helps them, then great. Unlike you, I am not a scientist. But I do have experience.... and I have suffered for years and my skin is the best it has ever been.
If you want to think that the allantoin in EB is coincidence as to why that particular mineral make up suits me and not irritate me, then fine, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I have - please check other mineral make up threads - tried many makes. they itch like hell!!
I also remove my make with Johnson baby wipes - not the extra sensitive ones (cos they aggravate!!) - this is because, again, I have used just about everything, and they suit me. Guess I am just plain weird..........
Sometimes you just have to trust in something.. - I can't prove to you anything - I am fed up with reading about what causes this or what causes that, sometimes we just have to trust and listen to ourselves and go with it.
We are, plainly, all individuals.Genie
