Just wanted to say thanks to all the posters on this thread, I just stumbled upon it as I am searching for new makeup and skincare (I have rosacea too). I wanted to buy mineral makeup and the Elementals range looks perfect :) I will be buying the comfrey cream as well. I just wondered, apart from Liz Earle, does anyone have any recommendations for a day cream, perferably organic, that would be non-greasy enough to use under make up? I buy organic face products from Ebay and have had some success but if there's anything specific that works it would be great to hear a personal recommendation.
Proud to be a moneysaver :)

I've only used the Liz Earle light with the mineral make up. I find it perfect for me - someone is bound to come along shortly with their recommendations ... :D

Can you believe I was JUST diagnosed as having Rosacea?!!!!

After all these years - Huh

Anyways Im now on antibiotics for the next couple of months so lets see what happens there

Im a non drinker now days but as an alkie I can assure you I did do my fair share in the past - just hoping I dont get the thick lumpy nose for my past sins :)

Still using the minerals - EB and BE, cant use soap or water at all now so sticking with the OCM and slapping on the Avon moisturiser.

Anyone have a good very very very gentle exfoliater? Still get very flaky around the hair line and eyebrows

And there was me thinking that it was the fireworks lighting up the sky - but it was you...

I've had a lovely red t zone for years - but my nose seems alot better since using the comfrey, even the lovely scarlet enhanced red veins appear less... :D Bit worrying as I could lose my job standing at the kerb side at zebra crossings if it calms down anymore........... :o

I use Boots Aqueous Cream. I buy the 500g tubs (under £4) and use it all the time. It's not greasy. (I use it in the shower too as you would soap and that really moisturises my skin.) If I'm using it "dry" I take a large dollop and work it into my face.

It's a really good base for mineral make up, which I also use.

That is interesting - I would've thought it would be too greasy, but if you are using mineral make up on top, obviously not.. will have to try that, it would be cheaper too than LE.. :D

I've thought often about the lazer treatment - but mine (as said before), seem to be fading??? Weird.

I had laser treatment about ten years ago. It was effective but expensive. It did definitely get rid of some of the veins, although some (around my nostrils) seemed to come back quite quickly. I will go back and have it done again at some point in the future.

I use Aubrey Organics moisturiser for sensitive skin with no problems. Not cheap but lasts for ages.

  • Like a lot of skin conditions, you often get very similar symptoms from very different causes. It sounds like the OP has some kind of metabolic disorder if changing diet is effective. But it is known that in some cases rosacea is the result of a fairly harmless organism called helicobacter pilori (not sure if the spelling is spot on there). This is very easily cleared up with a gel containing metronidazole, the brand name is Metrogel. It may not work but it is worth a try.
