    No. get AntiVir. Last week I discovered a virus on my computer which was quarantined but kept on replicating on boot up. However. when I reported this to AntiVir, they responded immediately with an update and it cleared it completely. You can schedule the programme to update and scan your system daily. I really do commend this programe to you and suggest you give it a try.

    According to the support forum, free AntiVir doesn't scan emails. A major drawback IMHO.

    I've had AVG for the past couple of months and so far have had no problems.

    Another vote for E-Trust (EZ antivirus free from Micro$oft.
    Dont waste a perfectly good present worrying about the future!
  • AVG , its free, it provides free updates, scans emails, scan booy sectors, it's all there baby!

    I has avg for a year then thanks to this site changed to avast and it is good and even found things not scanned by avg my choice is avast.

    Avast is certainly superior to AVG 6. I haven't tested AVG 7. Though I do use the AVG Boot UP Scanner.

    AVG for me... Avast was complicated and slow, taking ages to scan each email... much prettier than AVG though if that's what you're into :)

    FYI, the free 12 month "trial" of etrust antivirus still works, just downloading it now (4.2 Meg file) to check it out!
