free antivirus recommendation

I am looking at free antivirus programs. does anyone have experience of these or other programs? which one do you recommend?

free-av.com is the best one from my experience.

Avast slowed my PC right down

I would say AVG Free....

However, you can get a year free of Computer Associates EZ Antivirus... through microsoft... https://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/

Just fill out the form and download! Offer expires on 1 Aug though, so hurry!

i use EZ Antivirus on both my computers and have no problems with it at all

Do yourself a favour and get AntiVir from https://www.hbedv.com forget the rest, this is THE BEST

I'd go for AVG too, have the paid for one on my desktop and the free one on my laptop. Only caveat is it can be awkward to setup for email if you don't use OE or Outlook
