The ONLY reason that I choose Avast over AVG(6, in this case) is that when I downloaded a virus via the CNET Secure(?) site. Avast caught and fixed it. Maybe that was the reason why AVG 6 didn't respond at all. I had both installed at the time.
So, I use Avast because it actually prevented my computer from getting infected.

I use Avast too now - much better, faster and easier to manage IMO than my 2 previous paid for AVs (Norton and Panda).

The only teeny annoying feature is the American voice that often booms "your virus database has been updated"! But that can easily be disabled (the voice-not the updates!) in Avast preferences.
