    Afternoon all.

Started catching up on here this morning briefly and then DD needed computer for coursework so I've only just got back on here.

Two loads of washing, in and out, in and out and now just in and drying indoors!

Cleaned out fish tank, not as bad as I expected. Still got one fish, living forever (apparently).

    Vacuumed through downstairs

Cooked roast chicken dinner and cleared up.

Woken at 7.10 am by DD1 who is on holiday and presumably hadn't worked out any time differences..........But I didn't complain because I like to know my family have got to places safely :D

Nice to see you back AnW'sMum

and all the best to anyone else going through hard times.

I'm feeling really awful. I rang my parents house to see if perhaps my sister might watch DS tomorrow for us - seems though whatever i do, i need to go in to work to empty my room out and desk in the office, plus drop off piles of crud. Mum, dad and my nephew all have the bug too. Don't know if it cam via us, but a strong possibility.

Other sis has an appointment tomorrow, so i think DH may have to take the next couple of days off with him, and then see where we stand then. I don't want to take the leave and then him be better in a matter of a day, and now he is not eating it will probably clear up.

Whatever the plan - i have completed reviewing two schemes of work this afternoon - that leaves another 4 now. Best write myself a list i think. That way if i have to go it will all be done.

lilme do you mean set jelly? Or runny jelly. He's managing smaller sips of water now, and has slept so much we are probably in for a rough night now tonight, but what the hell. He needs it.

what's this about a stormy night? We don't really have anything that can blow around so i suppose i don't need to worry about it.

Onwards - more tea anyone??? Just had some lucozade and that didn't cut it.

    Michelle, x

It took ages to sort out DS1's books and pencil case that child is incapable of organising himself.

Feel there is not enough hours in today.

DS3 has done his reading and dinner all done - OH can tidy up as he has just got in and went at 9:30.

Ironing still to do and plan for next week so see you all on the new thread.

Michelle, with the jelly, either, we made it less 'set' for DS1 when he was poorly, it's basically working on the fact it's mainly water to help with the fluid intake but also doesn't contain any milk etc which can aggravate these types of bugs. Hope you are feeling bettter soon, wouldn't worry about where the bugs come from, when it goes around everyone usually gets it eventually and could have come from anywhere.

Storms, well it's VERY calm here, spookily calm with all the weather reports stating many weather warnings including bad winds etc (have a look on BBC website, worrying!) still it could be wrong or like before when we had the 'calm before the storm' as it was like this before the winds that took part of the roofing stuff off.

Bellie, have you tried a potty for the hamster? might be a little too old to try but I have used them with success with all we've had. Hamsters like going in the same place, like kittys, you can buy specific hamster potties or just use half or a full plastic tub in the corner, just watch to make sure he doesn't chew it if he does you'd need to look at a 'safe' plastic one. Shovel some of it's doo and wee in the pot and see if it uses it. Saves doing a massive clean out as often and can extend the life of the cage in the 'area' they go. Works for bunnies aswell usually. Oh and hedgehogs, Sonic has a 'litter tray' in his cage.
One day I might be more organised...........

Re:hamster potty, you can use a glass jam jar, big enough for fat and furry bums to get in. Put in fesh shavings and some wet stuff before you clean the cage. Then set it in his toilet corner. Most of them will use it. We used them in the pet shop to show people that it can be done and it cuts down on smells and cleaning as once tehy use them you can empty it daily. Also glass wont get chewed or rot away like plastic.

Thank you for the potty idea, I will try it tomorrow when I have cleaned out his cage and see if he uses it. I am hopefull but he is a very old stubborn hamster. Fingers crossed!!! Might have to use a big mayonaise jar as he is a bot on the tubby sde

All my hamsters were too big to fit in a jam jar, I always ended up with supersize hamsters, so wouldn't have thought of that :rotfl: maybe a super catering size Helman's jar :rotfl: or one of those coffee ones maybe. I've always just bought the potties or trays like Sonic uses as they were fairly cheap, where we got Sonic from they just use those takeaway type tubs, but know a few who have used something else ok even one who uses an old porcelain pate dish because hers liked tipping it over and sleeping under it so needed something heavier. They do save a lot on cleaning outs as you just empty the doos when you feed them and stop the bottom of the cage rotting like you see happen a lot.
