It is spotty paper and just cut a circle out of the paper and card, stuck some acecate behind the aperture, foam flower at the front and a little flower peel-off coloured in on the acetate, sparkly paper on the inside of the card.
Lovely cards Birdie. A craft fair? That would be heaven but very dangerous for the budget!!!0 -

Hello there,
Birdie85 and Mumoftwo, love your cards.
I'm going to have a go at an aperture card but when I look at the blanks they just seem to suggest cross-stitch! My sister does lots of cross-stitch and she has sent me quite a few cards incorporating it. I shall get my thinking hat on later and see if I can come up with something.
Talking of craft fairs, I'm off to Aintree on Saturday for the craft exhibition there. I can feel my credit card groaning already. I'm seriously going to have to think about a set of wheely drawers for my craft stuff. It is taking over the dining room.
Is anybody else planning a trip to Aintree?Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

I live in Liverpool, I hadn't heard of this craft fair! I don't drive though, and I'll be looking after the kids - oh well never mind!! I've got too much stuff anyway!0 -

It is both Heaven and Hell! They do 2 big papercraft fairs a year at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate, I went to my first one last year and was totally unprepared and couldn't afford half as much as I wanted! The one in February was saved up for and I took a big tote bag that was bursting by the end of the day!:j You get really good deals at fairs and I definitely like to take advantage of them! It is also great because you get to see a lot of stuff you read about in magazine or on the internet in person and people do demonstrations so you come away with lots of ideas, but I did come away with a NEED for a Cricut machine! Haven't got one yet as it is too expensive, but I'm soooo tempted to save up and buy one!
If you can get to a papercraft fair, go! But be prepared to fight your way around the place, crafters can be very pushy when they see the papers they want!:rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
HERE'S MINE!

This was the card I made for my hubby who's birthday was yesterday. I used scrap textured wallpaper, coloured it with alcohol inks and fabric pastel dye sticks & finally metallic felt pens. This was put behind a 3-fold aperture card and rub-down transfer stitch-effect letters & flower in a co-ordinating colour were put on the front. My hubby asked the question, 'Did you make it yourself?!' - what does he think I've been doing for the past few weeks? Men! :rolleyes:I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
Thats lovely qwiksave - brilliant idea with the textured wallpaper:TMary

Not to mention £60ish a pop for the cartridges!
Once my Sizzix arrives I'll see how I get on with that before deciding to spent a fortune on a Cricut!
