Hiya I lurk on this thread but rarely post. My problem, slightly off topic, is that I have too much card making stuff and it all needs sorting out. Any ideas about the best way to store it ? At the mo I have it in various boxes and baskets & files. Don't know whether to buy a deep bookcase or a chest of drawers. Any ideas please ? TIA

Hi, firstly, welcome! Re your problem, I think I've seen someone else say on a thread that they keep their stuff in one of those trolleys with the pull out drawers. They can usually be bought fairly cheaply in argos and are probably mostly used for storing children's toys (or there are vegetable ones too). Hope this is of some help.

Thanks Crannog. I can't decide whether to start sorting it out now and then decide how best to store it after I have weeded out all the carp or buy something first so that I can put it straight away once it's sorted IYSWIM. Hmm . Trouble is it's in the spare bedroom so want it to look tidy for when we have visitors.

    Hi Ellidee and welcome !:T
My stuff was all over the place, bits here, bits there.........now its all in boxes -well one big box file and an old stationary box and a little tool box type thing for the little stick on bits and smaller pieces of card.
Having had a clear out recently I emptied a drawer in a cupboard and now its all in there so although its in different boxes at least they're all in the same place.
I don't have the space for another set of drawers.

Is it decoupage next week ?????Oh lor.............not happy with the one I did this week really and try and make do with what I've got to cut down on expense a bit.............might find an image or two off one of the websites though and try that. Not something I've done before..........

  • All mine is in a 5 chest of drawers from argos and 2 ikea flat packed boxes or my papers/card stock/scoring board. I then have my cuttlebug, cutting mats, trimmer, tools and blooms/ribbon in jars etc on top of the chest of drawers.

I do have lots of die cuts/stick on embelishments wanting to find a new home :D

Ellidee, bedroom drawers. Like this one but the top two is one drawer, they have stopped selling the one I have. I did have (still have stored in the spare bedroom) one that crannog suggested and they are very good but I soon out grew it and it doesnt hold 12*12 papers.

  • You need to find something that suits you. I ave been though loads of things but using this method means I can decide what gets 'shown' ie on top and what doesnt. Its nice sometimes to throw a project in a drawer and get it out a few days later and look at it with 'fresh' eyes :D

Edit to say I think I quoted the wrong post! DOH!

I keep all my card/scrapbooking bits and bobs in these boxes which were £1 each in QS (also known as Store21 or Bewise)!

One of the boxes houses my embellishments etc which are all placed in little yoghurt pots. In another box is my tools/adhesives etc and the final box has card/paper etc.

I also have this which houses my homemade envelopes plus any pages I've salvaged to to make the envelopes. This is a shoe box that I covered myself with wallpaper.

All the boxes stack on top of each other on the shelves in my dining area. Easy access to them when I decide to hijack the dining table for my crafting projects!
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j
