Ideas for card craft beginner

Hello everyone! I have been busy this morning uploading more pics:
This is a new decoupage range called "little adventurers", and its one of my favourites. They would be great for a beginner as there is no need for cutting - they just pop out of the sheet, and they are made from card which makes it a lot easier to layer up. They are also really nice quality and parts are already glittered. They are about 99p sheet and each sheet has three images.
Do you all like the expert way I balanced the card on my radiator!!!0 -
Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome i used some handmade fabric like paper and tore into squares
I formed a heart out of string and glued on and stuck leaf skeletons on the others the wording is a transfer i got free with do crafts create mag ages ago
Beginner type question: i used only sticky dots what different types of glue do you use for
Brads and jewels etc
mounting paper on paper
You lot have inspired me i have been out and bought supplies today spent £10
got 2 scrapbook kits ,foam pads, ribbon stickers, pack of card blanks 2 sheets card2 sticker sheet sets ,crystal letters a magazine and set scissors i feel quite gilty spending so much on me but figure it will pay for itself???

Shaz - you look like you got loads for £10, it should keep you going for ages!!! I use pva glue for sticking little bits like ribbons and jewels, craft shops sell it but you can get it cheaper elsewhere, (I can't think where off the top of my head, I bought mine ages ago). You don't need anything to attach a brad, you make a hole in your card, just pop it through and open up the "legs" to fasten. For sticking card and paper I use double - sided tape, and I am nearly running out, (not good - I use loads of it).
I can't help you regarding the downloads, I haven't got a printer - must get one!!! I think if you enter what you are looking for into google and then click on "images" at the top, then on "search images" next to your text it should come up with a few things. I just checked then and it found loads of liverpool images!0 -
Hi everyone,
I've just started making cards and I love this thread. It is a really great way to share ideas. I hope to take part in the challenges, starting from this week and upload a pic for you all of my aperture card. I think the challenges are a great way to get people doing something new that they may not have tried before.
I have spent a fortune recently buying crafting stuff. In future I will use ebay because things seem to be so much cheaper that Hobbycraft or QVC.
Does anyone know where I can download free or cheap-ish designs for background papers? I have a colour printer and if I use good quality paper I find it gives a good result. However, I haven't found a place to download designs from. I like stripes and small checks and florals because you don't have to worry too much about placing the image in a particular place on the card.
Hope you don't mind me popping in.

shaz...............brilliant card.............love that sort. How did you stick the skeleton leaves on ? Have to ask as I've been painting something at home and had problems getting my leaves to stick.
Been to craft shop and bought some card...........going to have a go at cutting my aperture myself so don't expect a lot...............lol It was either that or I had to buy a pack of 6 !!Mary
