I;ve got a piece of material (can't think where I got it from) with cows and sheep on it so I'm going to have a go at using that on an Easter card for baby grandson with a stick on blue cows head with rolling eyes (OH won a notebook in a raffle with it on but the notebook faster broke)........googled some images of chickes I'll stick on some card and add them with those glue bits that raise it up (can't think what they're called now..........lol)
Just hoping it works out all right.
Found some other images that will do to make better easter cards than a couple that I've got - hopefully...........so that's tomorrows task.
I love it:j Very theraputic I find and I can loose myself in a pile of card and glue for hoursMary

They;re not glue dots polly...........got them and they come on a roll. These are like sticky pads on a flad sheet and they peel off to stick on the image or whatever it is, then you peel off the stick paper left on the pad and put it on the card. You''re bound to have some I bet. They just raise the image or embelissment up a little bit for a 3-D effect.
Didn't get to the newsagents this morning..........slept a bit too heavy andwoke with thick head.Might chance it tomorrow (they open on Sundays I think) otherwise it'll be Wednesday. Gale force winds forecast for Monday and Tuesday and I'm taking no chances going out in that.
I'll let you know how grandsons card goes........can't put a photo on as I don't have a digi camera or scanner -not that hi tech..............lol - so you;ll have to take my word for it.
I use the peel offs for edging either an image I've got off the internet or just round the edge of the card, normally the very narrow ones in gold or silver.
I could run amok in our craft shop - and the cake decoration shop next door full of ribbons etc but the purse strings don't allow it. I normally pick a packet of off cuts up from their card making class and get no end of nice pieces of card from them.
Having a clear out of stuff from Mums house and I'd got a tin of old badges with Christmas trees on -think my brothers kids collected them once - so I've rescued those I can use on cards and sent the rest to the charity shop (1970's pop groups etc.) Amazing what you can find kicking around the house to use that keeps the cost down:jMary

I;m pleased you started it polly...........being a bit of a novice at card making I'm always looking for a few ideas and tips from people. A lot of the card making stuff can be expensive -well to me anyway being on a limited budget so any little hints are valuable.:jMary

Those little pads are calles foam pads. I have them in small circles, small squares and larger rectangles and you can also buy it on a roll where you just cut off what you need. Poundland sells a roll and several sheets of rectangles in a pack for a £1, great value.0

This thread is fab!
I will be keeping an eye on you guys for inspiration - I made about20 cards yesterday to sell in a car boot sale next weekend. I also started on my 2008 xmas cards - have made 5!
I've been card making since summer 2006, I find it's a nice relaxing hobby that helps me switch off after work. Like other posters here I have the 'hand made by...' labels from Studio Catalogue first, now from ebay as they're a lot cheaper.
I will post some pics on here later when I locate my camera, it's really useful to see how lovely your cards are and get ideas x
