I try to keep mine as simple as possible. Friend of mine bought me some lovely paper at Christmas and I've done some where I've covered the front of the card with the paper, put a toning colour ribbon down the side or middle with a stick on ribbon at the top or some other embellishment.
Doing one at the minute with card that folds both sides and meets in the middle. Trimmed it off a bit so whats actually inside the card can be seen before its opened. So far I've got a coppery coloured strip of card down the centre, cut a small cone shape from some other card and arrange three roses in it - supposed to look like a bunch of flowers wrapped up. On the outside I'm just going to put some ribbon I bought today thats peachy colour (the cards cream) down each side with a stick on bow at the top.
If my brain really dries up, the simpler ones are easiest and often look very effective.Mary

Its amazing what you can do with just a few peel-offs and a bit of nice paper. Give me a challenge
Tell me what you have (what pictures ie flowers, handbags, peel offs etc for toppers) ribbon, buttons or whatever and what equipment you have ie: fancy scissors, punches, stamps, wire foam pads etc and what paper or material (patterned, shiny, colour etc) and I will try and help you..
Just of the top of my head: cut three squares, cut another three a bit bigger, mount them together, put peel off or picture or flower on two of them, Happy Birthday on the third one. stick them on the card in a straight row with a peel off border along one side.0 -

Since it is just about spring, punch out a whole bunch of small tulips from a light coloured paper, stick them around the edge of your card as a border or just down the spine side of the card, just angle them a bit as you stick them down. Or stick them across the middle as a band. Then use a topper of butterfly, mount on card, mount again and stick it with foampads on top of the band of tulips at an angle. I am working this morning but will try to show you what I mean with pictures this afternoon. Just be brave and try things out, just move them around the card to see how they look before you stick anything down.0

Once you get all your stuff out its amazing what ideas come flooding through the brain (sometimes anyway - othertimes total confusion.........lol)
I've still got two easter cards I want to re-do.......they're just not quite right........put it this way...........I wouldn't want them.............lol Think I must have done them when the mood just wasn't right. So, I'll have another go later.
If all else fails it'll just be an image of an egg and a Happy Easter across the top of the card...........lolMary

Hi again all you cardmakers, I've been having computer probs for a while so havent been about.. loving some of the ideas coming on this thread... polly1976 I noticed you said earlier that your tissue paper tryout didn't work out - anything I can help with? Did you have a go at the colouring the silver foil idea? Did it not work for some reason?
Another idea for cardmaking ideas would be to have a look at the craft books in your local library if you are able to get out, hope you're feeling better now.. Also, we've just got Sky TV and there are so many shopping channels!! Some of them are craft based - and they have some ideas for card making - it IS possible (with strong willpower!) to watch them WITHOUT buying loads more craft stuff!:D

The craft channel is good had some good ideas from that and not spent a penny lol. i think the foil i had for your idea was too thin so when i feel a little better i will give it another go have you made any cards lately?0
