Looks brown on the piccy but honest.............it was black paper with white flowers on that I stuck onto some card. Strip down the left hand side is a piece of silver card with three flowers I cut off a card I'd had given (they're black and white.............between them I put some silver peel off stems then added a small 'spray' of peel of stems and a black embelishment, also salvaged from an old card.
Didn;t add a happy birthday or anything.........normally don't unless its for that purpose then I can use it for whatever the occassion is.
Actually, I'm quite pleased with it (she says smugly...............) --I'll get me coat.........................lolMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Fancy [STRIKE]being roped in[/STRIKE] joining in with our themed cardmaking sessions? You'd be very welcome and indeed any other lurkers (y'know who you are!
) I'll be doing my remake just as soon as I can tear myself away from mse......... yep, I'm really going........no, still here! :rotfl:

Hi Polly, Sorry to hear your first heat embossing experience didn't work out - I wonder what it was?
I don't think it was necessarily the fact that you used cheap ink and powder. One question I would like to ask is did you use a pigment ink pad rather than a dye based one? For embossing you have to use the pigment type or it won't work properly. Perhaps you could find out some more written information about embossing on tinternet? (deliberate typo - credit to Peter Kay!

Hi All.
Here goes, I havent' posted an image before.... Okay..well I think that's worked. The top image is my black and white one (I use the term really really loosely!) I did a few black and white and because I painted them they really did look rotten - seriously, I'm not being modest! The bottom image is my card with a love theme from last week's challenge. Hope everyone is well.0 -
Some thoughts on the other cards I've seen for this challenge and the late ones for the love themed cards.
Mary42 - really liked your 'love card', I especially liked the shiny background/insert that was just visible at the edge of the card. It was a nice touch. Your black and white card was beautiful, so much work and the layered effect looked great.
Polly - your b&W card is great - so neat and well laid out. I'm definately getting myself a pair of those wavy scissors!
Saint Chris - cool card, love the way you've overlapped the love hearts. (How do you cut them soooo straight!?!).
So that's my two cents worth. x0 -

I've been having a go at heat embossing this week. I borrowed a friends 'tool' (looked like a mini hairdryer)and did very well on Monday and Tuesday evening. On Wednesday I borrowed Mums 'tool' (heat it up type) and have had no luck whatsoever. It seems as though the ink is not wet enough for the powder to stick enough.....Will keep practising but it is very disheartening after having so much success!!0 -
Great cards everyone, i'm doing mine this morning, when hubby has gone of to work.

the white hearts are like feathers, and bought, the red ones, i just took my time and cut round, i tend to use small nail scissors as they are easier to use.0
