I started last year around August...........OH thought I'd lost the plot...........lol but I had a lot to do. I belong to a birthday card group on a history site so had those to do, plus family and friends. Kept them fairly simple though - postage can be expensive if the cards have too many embelishments on them.
I think I'll just carry on making a few 'general' ones for now -can always use them as little notecards - then start on Christmas in a couple of months..........maybeMary

Hello Everyone, Nice to see some new faces popping in here, don't forget you are welcome to take on our weekly challenges!
I've been encountering more technical problems with my black & white card! I hope to do another one tonight when the kids are in bed but in the meantime you can see a card I made yesterday for one of my son's friends 8th birthdays. My boys ought to do them really but they aren't into arty stuff so I get to have all the fun!
Pictures from catalogue of saucepan, telephone and forks, and the metal nut, button, staple and wire stuck on with superglue.
It's nearly black & white - apart from the blue but yeah, I know (sigh!).... I gotta do a proper one!...:D
That is absolutely brilliant - especially because you've only used items that all of us would have lying around at home. I can imagine my ds (11) liking this so I'm sure your ds friend will love it. :T:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
I've done a couple of simple black and white cards for this weeks challenge. My next challenge is to post a photo on here!!!0

Ah, thanks kisto,
(<Blushes>) I've been meaning to catch up with you on your fab finished scrapbook thread, I'll do that very soon!...
I haven't found out the reaction to my card yet my son is on a 2-night sleepover at said friends house! His very 1st sleepover!
Regarding the card, its the type that is very useful to do if you are going to see the person you give it to - not so you can see their reaction, though thats nice- but because with thick embellishments like nuts, bolts & screws, etc - it can cost a fortune to post.
Nice to see you back here kisto, are you going to join in our challenges?I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

My ds had his friend sleepover on Thursday night whilst my dd slept round her friends.   My ds mate is hard work - kind of hyper. As they're a bit older (10 & 11) I left them to it most of them time!Regarding the card, its the type that is very useful to do if you are going to see the person you give it to - not so you can see their reaction, though thats nice- but because with thick embellishments like nuts, bolts & screws, etc - it can cost a fortune to post.

I bought the happy birthday lettering from the craft sale at the KC Stadium in Hull last Sunday, it is a peel off. The black and white shapes are also from peel offs which I bought in a kit from Lakeland last year......all cheating...he hehe0 -
Cazarol your cards are lovely, love the decoupage Scooby snacks! the black and white ones are very effective, love the flower shapes.
Here is mine and this is how I made it: stamped and heat embossed the word "friend" punched the letters out, embossed the border of the card with circles, mounted flower paper on silver card and then on black card, punched out flowers for the corner, stick letters on with foampads and finished with little gems:0
