Sounds quite strange unless you have been in the situation yourself but I think adult conversation is needed lol ... I am quite looking forward to it so fingers crossed I don't get in a fluster and smash all the glasses lol. think part of my main problem at the minute is that I am stuck 24/7 doing the same things over and over and whilst I could go out I don't get the opportunity as I am always busy doing something else. Plus with OH away I get no help with anything and no time to myself. So have been slowly cracking up til almost breaking point. Hoping this will give me some time away from the children (again without it sounding nasty) lol
Well done Polly, glad you got them all finished
Thanks Mary
Absolutely doesn't sound nasty. Everyone needs time off or time to do something different. I am a bit like you as OH has been working very silly hours and when he's been at home in the evenings he's been glued to a bl**dy laptop screen :wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
well done rusty on your new job. I know what you mean about needing adult converstaion even if it just for a few hours! But you will still be there for your kids during the week/day...enjoy it:Dsaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Don't even talk to me about that one Rainmac, We had a massive row friday night ... he got home late thurs, worked local fri, got home just after 4 fri went to the pub at 5 (fri) got home at nearly 11 then decided he would ignore me so I lost my rag ... then Sat he was glued to his ps3 all bloody day, last night we watched a film and today he has sat on the ps3 again all day, and now he is upstairs on the pc whilst I am down here, asking him to help with the children is like asking him to give me some blood!!! the children have barely seen him yet he doesn't seem to care which just makes me even more mad.
Thanks for all the support guys, still feel like I am about to crack up but I guess thats normalRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
rusty - don't worry - its perfectly normal to feel like that when OH seems to be 'doing his thing'. I think I drew the short straw sometimes when OH is either at the pub, glued to a football match or asleep in front of the tele.!! Still, he does run the hoover round occassionally and he cooks (mainly for his own survival I think.............lol) but its me who deals with phone calls, paperwork on kids and seems to be stuck indoors all day while the youngest lad is in and out like a yo yo....
Nearly had major fall out tonight when he put the heating on and it didn't work...........he fiddled with knobs, muttered a lot,(is master of the deep sigh!) so in the end I rang the helpline - 'Have you checked the room thermostat ?' she says.........'ooops......no says OH..' has quick look and its on zero !! Did we both feel fools or what..........now I always thought blokes were supposed to know about these things.................lol seems not
Heating now working a treat..........lolMary

Lucky you Mary, My OH does nothing like that ... oh no wait sorry he moans cause there is masses of ironing which needs doing or the house isn't spotless etc ... I know it is probably a shock for him as he is used to living on his own (was til we moved up) and although we saw him every weekend he has gone from living on his own to suddenly having 2 children! (he brings up my son as his own but my daughter is his) but then I guess I could make up excuses all day long ... like I always seem to do to try and make things work and make things easier on myself!
although I did laugh at the thermostat lolRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rustyflange - you are not alone, mine does nothing around the house. His idea of housework is to throw his dirty washing down the stairs, and that's it. He complains that the house is a "dump" but does he offer to help, does he bo******.0

Hi everyone,
Polly has asked me to post the challenge:
It is cards with brads or/and buttons
Rainmac, lovely Christening card, I love cross stitch, cardmaking has taken over from cross stitching for me, shame really, I used to love it so much.
Congrats on your new job Rusty, it will be great for you. I go to my part time job to get away from it all, while the rest of the office girls huff and puff and can't wait till Friday.
Here is my card for the challenge: Made it for my mum for her birthday. It had to be a pop up again, I'm afraid, my mum makes cards too and I had to impress her and show off. The hearts of the flowers are brads0 -
