  • Really beautiful, special card Polly, it must have taken you ages to make, it looks rather complicated! I love the corner peel offs and how it is tied at the front.

beautiful card polly - really posh and professional looking:T

melissa - I have the same problem if I try and enlarge images from google so I don't bother now. If they're not the right size I want I keep on till I find one. Making them smaller doesn't seem so bad but enlarging seems to distort them a bit. Only answer I've got anyway..............bit of a techno-illiterate really....................lol:rolleyes:

polly - shan't be able to do this weeks challenge -haven't got a card among my lot thats got the right bits on and I know I'm not going to have time what with meeting tomorrow, MIL being ill etc. Job to get my head around starting one from scratch. So apologies to all:o

Polly, very classy, special looking card, well done. And you're welcome about the challenge, you set it, I only typed it on the thread for you.

Mary, hope things will improve for you MIL soon.
No one is obliged to take part in the challenge, so don't feel bad if you don't, it is just for fun, no point in getting stressed about it, we all have lifes to get on with, some weeks you have more time and creative tendencies and other weeks you can't think of anything, or are so busy or stressed you can't be bothered. (Or is that just me )

Right ladies I am after a bit of advice. Finally got a printer and its up and running - hurrah. Trouble is I've just printed off a couple of images to make cards with and the picture quality is bad. I got the images from google, but I think the trouble is they are only small images and when they are enlarged the quality isn't good. I am using plain thin card - does it look better on photograph paper???

Hi Melissa, general rule to printing images is basically the bigger the file size then better the quality. obviously with small images when you want to enlarge them then the quality will be poor as they look fine as a small file but then stretched when bigger. The quality shouldn't change no matter whether you are using photo paper or thin card.

Wow all these cards are stunning!
I haven't been on this thread for a while - but started my Gift Card Making Course last night, Its a mixed level class so I'm feeling well out of my depth! I managed to make my own card with ink.emobsing powder and the heat gun so I was pleased with that.
But I'm having great difficulty with all the sizes of the cards for cutting! I felt like a right idiot trying to work out in cm's what the sizes should be  Can anyone just give me a couple of examples of sizes in cm's?
And heres the card I made!

  • Hels102 - beautiful card, well done. I never bother measuring my cards, I just use another card as a guide use that as a template. I don't know the exact measurements of square cards or Dl ones, but an A5 size card is basically just a piece of A4 folded in half, and a C6 card (sometimes called A6) is a piece of A5 card folded in half. Does that make sense?
