Wow Rusty, fab first cards. You are a girl after my own heart, simple non-cluttered designs but so effective. Well done you! You must be really pleased with them :T
As your floral one isn't for anyone in particular you could always add a greeting if you wanted to at the top (?) when you know who your giving it too - Happy Birthday, Get Well etc. My fave card is the BABY one but I do love the flying things on the flower one - are they dragonflies/butterflies?
So are you itching to make more? Bet you are!
To be honest I wasn't really sure what to do but just sort of got stuck in! ... I wanted to keep them simple and may well make up a couple more tonight as the OH is on his xbox! I said to him I was desperate to make more but have limited cards and some are very bright colours which wouldn't suit. I might go and make a couple more though just because I can.
Not sure if they are dragonflies or butterflies, they look like a mixture of both to be honest. I did think about putting a greeting on but then OH said who is that one for ... and my immediate reaction was to say good point!
Anyway think I might go make a couple more :rotfl:Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Sat and done a few more, the OH made me do one with a piggy and I aint too sure if it looks right ...Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

I'm brand new to card crafting so please forgive my ignorance.
I have recently bought a todays special value set of Christmas card making stuff from QVC but when it came apart from all the fancy toppers, it had included in the box, lots of sheets of patterned card in - do I cut this up as backgrounds to stick to the front of the cards i'm making and what glue should I use?
I was also wondering ... what do I make the actual base cards with? Do I just fold coloured A4 card in half, and glue fancy card and toppers to it.
I dont think I could fold a card good enough to look professional any tips.
And can I also ask - when including an insert, should I cut the insert slightly smaller than the actual card and where do you glue it.
Looking forward to having a go and amazing my friends & family with beautifully hand crafted cards this year - whilst also having fun and saving myself a fortune by not buying them - many thanks for any help.Quidco £196 - Voucher Codes £408 - GC Saved £603P.A.D. £[strike]4720[/strike] / £4330- Jan GC £375/Spent £283.78~~~~~~~~~~~0 -
Hi everyone!
Can anyone tell me where to get cheap curling ribbon from??
DD age 10 made a card with this 'holey' foil type stuff with curling ribbon woven in and out and it looked great. We bought some of the holey stuff but trying to find cheap ribbon ie a friend got 500 yards (or metres) for 95p ages ago online but I can't find any that cheap.
Have also posted on crafty 4 christmas thread so sorry if you've read this twice, just hope to find someone who has a good idea. Someone suggested florist suppliers but the one I found had dear p & p which bumped the prices up.
Thanks in advance!
Ps Loving your amazing cards!0 -

Depends how soon you want it. If you can wait a few months all the shops will be getting all their xmas stuff it and it will be cheap in pound shops. Studio cards sell it all year round but again they charge postage of about £4 but if you are doing some christmas shopping and getting your wrapping paper too then it would be worth it:heart2::rotfl: :rotfl: :heart2:I LOVE A BARGIN:heart2: :rotfl: :rotfl:TIME TO START SHOPPING FOR NEXT CHRISTMAS:dance: I LOVE THE SALES!!!!!:dance:0 -

Will have a look at Stuio cards as I want quite a lot and plan to use it for Christmas presents but normally just sold in small (5 -10 Metre) amounts only.0 -
Just looked at studio and only has smallsih amounts of ribbon so will carry on looking, but thanks for trying to help my mad quest!0
