Fantastic first card Jo.G. Very pretty - I love the animals at the bottom.
MaggieBob - a great selection of cards. I think my favourite is the fairy one too. I love the matching backing papers.
I feel really bad about posting the deal for the subscription now, with everyone having so many problems. I hope you're not all going to lynch me! I'm still waiting for my freebie, I know its a great deal for £1, but I think its really unprofessional how they have been handling it. I have lost count of the emails that I have sent them, and still nothing!
On the brighter side I had a little good news. My Mum texted me to say that her boyfriend had managed to sell some of my cards, and that the total is currently £13! I know this doesn't cover a fraction of what I spend, but at least its something. I'm not sure what to do with the money - I might put it aside to save for something in the hope that I can add to it if I sell any more.
Rainmac - any more news on your new dream job?

Yeah Mary43 - I've made a pound or two before, but nothing more. So this is a big improvement! I'm already thinking of making a few more to give to him to sell! Trouble is its only a small workplace so I guess they won't be wanting that many more! I also sent along a little scrapbook that I decorated, it was left for the buyer to add their own photos or to give it as a gift. So if that goes down well I might do a few more, people might want them for xmas presents - here's hoping anyway!

100_0871.jpgA little something I knocked up using the little invitation cards (the cake) and some poundland letters....

Melissa, don't worry about the magazine offer, £1 for 3 issues is still really good value so the free gift doesn't matter too much, it's just the principle of the thing, if they are going to offer it then they should honour their offers!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

thanks Krystaltips - it was a good deal, its just a shame they have been so slow to deliver. Lovely card by the way - love the big cake, and the paper matches really well.

Super card Krystaltips.........lovely colours and like the lettering.

Melissa... blank scrapbook sounds like a good idea for christmas pressie......someone or should I say more than someone, will be bound to want one, maby more. Have to ring mums care home to see how the ones are going that I sent down there. I don't want anything for them, it was really for the residents who can't get out to buy their own.........I did a fair selection of birthday and blank ones. Whatever money is raised they can put towards activities of some sort..........least that was the general idea.

Hey Melissa, well done you on the card sales :D Can you advertise that you will make cards to order? You say it's only a small workplace but if you think of all the cards you send in a year and multiply that by the number of people who work there, that's getting on for a lot of cards! I bet Xmas cards would go down well a bit nearer the time and gifts like mini scrapbooks. Ohhh could be really exciting! Have you ever thought of doing a craft fair?

With my job (OMG, it feels so weird saying that!), I spent a few hours yesterday practising making two wedding invitation designs. Made 24 cards and was pretty pleased with myself. Going back to the lady's house tomorrow night for another evening of training and to show her what I made. I need to look into what I need to do to register as self-employed. I will never earn enough to pay tax but think I am supposed to declare the income so I guess I should! I've been told hours will be between 5-10 per week. It's all still very new and I feel very much the 'new girl' but it is really interesting :D

Mary43 - you truly sound like a saint. Donating crafts to a care home, and I know you foster, I don't know how you find the time!
Rainmac - I would absolutely love to do a craft fair, but without transport its a little difficult. I don't know of any that go on in my area, the tend to be church fairs where all the money raised goes to the church itself. I have thought of buying some "handmade by" labels and putting my email address on the back. The only problem is my Mum lives about 2 hours away, so I only see her about once a month when I can pass her the cards to sell. I suppose I could post them but then it just adds to the cost.
I am so pleased that your job is going well - I predict great things - soon she'll be asking you to design your own! Is it just wedding stationery that she sells or other craft things too? You could show her your door hangers - which are so famous they now have their own thread!

You could offer to post on the basis that the buyer pays the postage. So many people buy handmade cards on ebay and pay p&p costs. I reckon it's worth a go if you'd like to secure a customer base. Labels on the back is a good idea, people then know where to come for more. Do you have a printer, you could run blank cards through that and print your email address on the backs?

It is wedding statiobnery only but that includes tables plans, place cards, save the date magnets, decorated albums so there's a good amount of variety.

melissa - I'm no saint believe me..................lol The kids aren't of the age where they need 'looking after' if you know what I mean....youngest is 11, oldest is coming up for 18 (not so you'd notice -he's such a clot at times!)
Hurt my back last year so can't do much in the way of the dreaded housework (every cloud as they say..........) so I end up sitting and messing about with glue and bits of paper............'occupational therapy'????? - ended up with so many surplus cards it made sense to send them to mums care home.........a lot of the residents can't walk about or get into town and every time I saw my mum I had to nip out and get cards for her for birthdays and stuff. Poor soul -now she's not aware of anything much, let alone birthdays but I still do cards on her behalf for the friends I know she'd send them to and sending stuff to the care home is my little way of saying thanks to them.
