I'm just back from Brighton (Hubby and I are off work this week, and are just chilling out) and wow, wow, wow - I got loads and loads of craft stuff. You see, until now, all my stuff has been from eBay, poundland or wilkos, which has been fine, but I've not really been to a proper craft shop, as there are none really in London (unless you go to unreachable places on the outskirts). I spent about £40, but luckily the MIL had just given me £30 for those 'new address' cards I made for her (which was very generous, as I wasn't asking for anything!), so I didn't feel like I was breaking the bank. I got some of the gorgeous new Papermania Naughty & Nice Christmas stuff, so I shall be making a gorgeous batch of stuff for Christmas, may even offer to do the MIL some cards :j

Anyway, enough from me again ;)

Ok, I've been lurking for ages on this thread (since it began) and although I'm quite confident in my beading, I'm very new to card making despite going to a few classes. I tend to stick with what I've learnt there and just do the same things at home (mainly heat embossing Christmas cards!). So this is the first card that I've really 'designed' myself, although to be honest I've just bought some nice letters and cut out some nice paper so not much artistic ability or talent!
Its for ny niece's 1st birthday - I've cut out a number one and put it inside the card as there was no room on the front. Comments and tips please.

My next task is a Ruby Wedding anniversary card for my mum and dad. I dont have a colour printer so struggle finding the wording (hence the letters on this card). Dont want to buy a full sheet of peel offs only to need one! Quite like the embossed banners I've seen on ebay and may see if anyone on there will do a one off for me. I'll have to make a few more because I've spent quite a bit on stuff in the Range today!

That's a really cute card Jo, great for a first go!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Thanks Maggie Bob & Krystaltips.

Halfway there already! Whilst shopping in the range, I've tried to pick up things that I can use for more than one idea, like a pack with pink ribbon and red ribbon so I can use it for babies and ruby weddings! But I spied loads of lovely things (many of which I dont know what they are or for!) and must have been in there for about an hour, no wonder the kids were fed up! I saw some big craft packs (Do Craft? ) for £15 that contain £30 worth of stuff. It would probably be cheaper to buy one of those to get me started.
I already have a kitchen cupboard for my beads, card craft stuff is being stashed in there too. They are both the same - so many lovely beads in so many colours and so many lovely papers and embellishments. If only I didnt have to work, I would quite happily spend my time beading or (attempting) card making.

Those docraft kits are an absolute bargain, and would be a great way to get you started by giving you a nice range of interesting card making bits. I got one this weekend, but the best thing about it was it came in a hobby tool type box, which alone would have been a tenner. *rubs hands with glee*
