Ladies, I am after a bit of advice. I want to try scrapbooking - never done it before but I'd like to make some for christmas presents. I wanted to get a set where the albums/papers/embellishments all match, I like the Laura Ashley/Dovecraft/K&Co stuff but it all seems really expensive. I wondered if anyone had seen any of it cheap or something similar???
    Thanks a lot!
Hi melissa there was a set on qvc on thursday or friday were you got 2 scrapbooks and all the coordinating papers and embelshments plus lots more but i think it was £25 i will have a look for you now but even tho i dont fancy scrapbooking i thought it was a great deal for what you got with it. The multi score board you said you had bought was it the crafters companion one?

Oh, the theme for next week should be Father's day, surely? Or have we already covered that?

Hi melissa, there is tons of scrapbooking stuff on ebay and you can often get the type of brands you mention much cheaper than sold in the shops, but you do have to wade through all the stuff on there and remember when auctions are ending so you can get a bid in at the last minute and snatch a bargain!

I bought a friend a mini K&Co scrapbook set from ebay for for birthday as she has expressed an interest in scrapbooking but wasn't sure where to start. The kit was brilliant as it had an album, stickers, papers, tags and other bits.

Also, ArtyMiss has a sale on, may have some bits you like???

Make sure you share pics of any completed scrapbook pages!!! :D

:hello: Hi everyone and hi to the new faces that I haven't spoken to before!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but hubby has been working in Spain for the last week and so I've had to do both our shares of parenting duties, which has meant no time for craft! (Sulk!) But he is back (hooray!)... until he has to go again in a week's time.

Anyway, I will finally be doing my 'Thinking of You' card tonight and will post later on. Not my favourite theme this one as I very rarely ever send out this type of card - but I do like to 'have a go' at all the themes, as they are all good practice!

Regarding the 'Father's Day Theme for next week, you have to be careful Maggie Bob, not everyone is in a position to do one - myself included - so if we do decide that most people would like to do it, it might be best to have an either/or theme - such as Make a Fathers Day OR a card using recycled materials, for example. (Some people might even like to do both...?)

You know, that thought occurred to me after I posted. Not quite sure why the idea took me, my Dad passed away 2 years ago, so I don't really have cause to make one (unless the husband wants one for FIL!?) Maybe a dual theme would be more sensible.

MaggieBob, the link for the subscription is on one of the previous pages on this thread. I will have a look in a minute to see if I can find it.
Polly - thanks for that, I will have a look at QVC, I thought it would be better to buy a kit where everything co-ordinates. The board was from a seller on ebay, and it cost about £6.30, it didn't give a brand and came with a tool to crease the cards too, so I thought it was a good price. The seller has loads more, if you want I'll find the item number.
Rainmac, thanks too, I did have a quick look on ebay, I'll have a look again for one of the mini books that you suggested, I might be better off starting with a smaller one! I'll check out Artymiss as well, I have had a look at her site before but have never bought anything. If they are any good I'll definately post some pictures!
    Welcome back quiksave!
1982girl, I emailed them today asking them about the freebie too, so we'll see who gets a reply first!
