I also chose the mystery gift - i think i might keep the subscription as i tend to buy the magazine anyway so i should still save!0 -
1982 girl - I might keep it on too. But I've cancelled this one, so after my 3 issues are up, I might subscribe again and get another offer with another freebie if they have one! (Does that make sense?).
Rainmac - I forgot to put that that item number was for a kit on ebay - d'oh!0 -

Hi pennyshahin, I don't think there are any other men on here, sorry! (are there?...)
Have you receved your Craft Wizard yet? If so, how are you getting on with it? Did it come with good instructions?
I don't personally put ordinary card through my printer, but I have used some inkjet card made for card making (which isn't cheap but they sell in WHSmiths) before now. I usually print my images on plain paper or sometimes photo paper and stick it down flat with spray on adhesive. You could check your printer instruction manual to see if it accepts card though - or possibly even try it?
Regarding backing sheets, you only need to put it on the front of the card - just frame the image or put it over half or a third of the card - take a look at some of the examples earlier on in this forum to see what I mean.

Mary, your card is sooo not boring, I think the standard this week has been really high but yours is def my favourite one :T:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Beautiful card Polly, iris folding is really lovely and you are very good at it!
Mary: Your card is very nice, love the ribbon and the flowers0 -
Rainmac - just checked out the links - some really gorgeous stuff there. The trouble is it all looks so good I think I would be scared to use it. I would want to keep it safe and just look at it now and then!!! Have you ever tried scrapbooking????
I can't remember who suggested it but the Artymiss site has a big collection of scrapbooking stuff, (I had a look), and she has a few bits in the sale.
Check out one item on ebay I think its my favourite, along with the Laura Ashley range, so expensive though: item number 180248345499
sooooooo beautiful!
I'll let you know if I buy anything, okay that should be I'll let you know what I buy - can't resist.
OMG what a beautiful kit!!! If money was no object then I;d have to have it whether I was making a scrapbook or not :rotfl: . The price and postage is a bit  but still lovely - looks like you get loads of stuff too. Have you looked to see if this is on the QVC site at the moment and what the price is? Probably loads more but maybe worth a quick look.
I have sort of tried scrapbooking once, recently as well. I bought a 6x6" album (ebay purchase!) for my dad for Father's Day and have filled it with pics of my 2 DS from birth to now. I went mad and bought papers, stickers, quotes, brads and other stuff to match (also ebay) but when I came to do the actual scrapbook I thought it looked much better simply putting the photos directly onto the cream card pages with some handwritten blurb/waffle from me. The cover is patterned so it isn't completely plain. I think it was because the scrapbook was small, with patterned papers it looked cluttered. I saw a friend's album last week of her 2 children and she has laid it out beautifully with matching papers, stickers etc - it looked perfect. So, I may give it another go but this time with a bigger album. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks for all this info on scrapbooking, I think we are going to need another thread for all this useful information - anybody fancy starting one?...
I made my first one last year for my MIL and I decided the same as you rainmac, the stickers etc made it too cluttered (mine was 8x8) and didn't seem appropriate for the receiver - so I started again, without too many embelishments and stickers. Mine had lots of pics of my 2 boys too - trouble is I miss it now after giving it away! Must make some more for myself!
For the challenge, I made a recycled themed 'Thinking of You' card - the idea was taken from the internet but I used handmade paper that I made myself :A , wool for the flower and handwrote the sentiment. The edges are
chalked and then the completed elements were mounted:I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

I will try and make a card for next week's challenge and am thinking of what two colours to use.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
Rainmac - I did check the qvc website and I think the kit was about £30 on there too! I think I'll kep checking ebay to see if a cheaper one turns up!
I'm hoping I can use the freebie that I get with my subscription for scrapbooking and I'll try and get the co-ordinatting scrapbook to go with it.0
