The tuna pizza I make costs about £1.15 in ingredients and 1/4 of it is only 400 calories. I have a small 1/4 and make sure OH has a larger 1/4 so my portion is reduced to about 300 calories. That's about right for a lunch.

Welcome back from your weekend away Bails, I know what you mean about corner shop prices. I did buy a loaf of bread from there in an 'emergency' last week and it cost £1.19, but to drive to the nearest Tesco would have cost more in petrol. The annoying thing was I had all the ingredients indoors and could have made my own but I didn't realise we didn't have any in the freezer.
The £5.21 should last Wendy, the freezer is full to bursting as are the cupboards. My spreadsheet tells me I have 41 'meals' in the freezer alone. the £5.21 only has to buy milk, which I buy at £1.96 for 6 pints full fat and water down to 12 pints semi fat :rotfl: . There is enough calcium in our drinking water to compensate for the calcium in the milk.

I'm fascinated by this, ffm. Do you consider the cons of concentration and effort to be worth the pros of hitting the budget? Stupid question!! If you didn't then you wouldn't be on the regime would you? Physically counting pennies and running spreadsheets though is a military-style precision I can only admire. I suspect you've been trained at Boot Camp Victory
Wendy  Misbehave... moi?0 -
