How Do I Take A TV Back To Currys For A Refund When Theres Nothing Wrong With It

I meant to say that should anyone be desperate for their money back, it would save them hundreds of pounds, but not in this case and the o/p should've checked their prices beforehand, much like people should check reviews and demos of games beforehand. Sorry for that confusion, and I stand corrected. However, although it annoys me when people are cheeky about doing as I suggested, there is no loss incurred on the side of the retailer and no legal issues.
The returned item is shipped for testing and found to be working and repackaged, they don't just dumpster it and no-one loses their job. It is only fraud if something is stolen, and in this case, nothing is, and there is no personal gain. Loss prevention officers at DSG Towers wouldn't even bat an eye-lid. What would be fraud is taking the TV, smashing the screen and claiming the insurance, but then I chose not to suggest that and is deplorable.
I don't like having my moral integrity questioned in this way, I was trying to be helpful and you might not like my suggestion but it is solid and the worst that happens is some tech gets paid for a fruitless few hours waiting for the TV to stop working.0 -

this thread sickens me to the stomach and I'm glad there are still a few decent folk around and remember what morals and decency are.
I wonder if this site and Martin's philosophy breeds this sort of dishonesty and f**k everyone else attitude that we sometimes see on here.

Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -

Morality doesn't come into it. I thought this was a Money Saving website. My method saves this poor soul hundreds of pounds!
They don't need to save £100s of pounds. It appears that they found something they liked more after they bought the current item.
My suggestion is just to keep the television since it was deemed good enough on the day it was bought. The even larger screens will be even cheaper in a few years time.Happy chappy0 -

says it all really.
Q9. Must I accept a credit note instead of a refund? It depends on why you want to return the goods.

Ok ok, I apologise. I am not a criminal and don't want to offend anyone. Was genuinely trying to help someone and I know that no-one gets hurt doing this but if it is considered evil then I am truly sorry. Like I say, I get it all the time working in retail and I simply pass on the knowledge to you guys. I only come on here to help people, not get anyone in trouble or force my views on anyone.0

Don't worry about it. Everyone (not just you) just needs to get the balance between moneysaving and morals right, and we haven't acused you of being a criminal
I too have worked in retail (management), and I know that if we sent the makers a TV back that they tested as not faulty, the store would NOT be credited - thats a double loss - you paid out a refund AND you have lost the TV. This is a large chain I'm talking about, not a small indy shop. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.0
