  • I am also getting numerous calls every day from this number. So far I have ignored their calls because I had an idea it would be some annoying company like this.

My telephone number is ex directory so how I they getting it?

I have tried to ring the number back but it tells me the number is not available.

Next time they call I am going to answer and tell them ever so politely what to do  .
  • I've worked for this company before, it only lasted a couple of days, but they go by two names, City Credit Management and Capital Finance, I think there may've been one more, but I can't remember.

They don't quite seem like fraudsters or scammers, but then again, they didn't quite seem right either. They do use very pushy sales tactics to sell their mortgages/IVAs, etc. The whole thing is run from an old church, it didn't seem very professional.

    The address;
    City Credit Management LTD,
    346 Loughborough Road,
    The Old School,
    Leicester,
    LE4 5PJ.

I've had calls from this number for the past 6 weeks, sometimes two a day. They say they are from Money Management but have the same spiel as described in earlier posts that mention other company names. I too am ex-directory and am registered with the TPS.

I have told the callers that, and I have also said that I am now recording their calls with the intention of bringing a charge of harrassment against them. This latter ploy worked for a week or so, but the calls then resumed again in earnest

As it seems to be a different person who phones me each time, I am beginning to think that the people ringing me are not employed by a company but have been sold a franchise (i.e the trade name, the script and the list of phone numbers). Money Management, or whoever they are, would then get their revenue mainly from the sale of the franchises. If the person telephoning strikes lucky and gets a punter in the net, he passes them on to Money Management (or whoever sold him the disc of numbers) and receives a commission on it.
Otherwise, if just a call centre was responsible, they would know that there is no point in continuing the calls to the same people every day for weeks on end. Also if, as it seems, it is a different person ringing me every time, they must have a call centre the size of the Albert Hall to house them in.

Each person who rings does not seem to realise that I have been previously contacted. They probably believe they have been sold a unique set of numbers just for them.

I just leave the phone hanging until they clear the call now - I don't even speak to them as I recognise the approach straight away.
  • I'm ex-directory and registered with TPS.

I received a call today claiming to be from 'Money Manager' and wanting to talk to me about my eligibility for benefits under Government legislation.

Eventually, after speaking to their 'supervisor' and 'manager' they admitted to being a 'debt solution' company in Leicester, trying to sell IVAs.

They claimed to have got my number from a 'commercially available database'.

They refused point-blank to give the registered name of the company, or their registered address. The chap suggested that, as all calls are recorded, he would lose his job if he divulged that information. He has promised that my details have been deleted from their database and I will never receive a call from them again.

A track-back of their telephone number suggests it is City Credit Management or Gamma Finances or Capital Finances Ltd, all of which seem to be associated with 0203 0043199

I have also complained to TPS.

On Monday I received two similar calls claiming to be from Sun Alliance, which I also reported to TPS, and I now think it was this company as the script and voices were the same.
  • Unfortunately TPS can't help us because these bottom feeders are based outside the UK. I spoke to a very nice chap a few weeks ago about these b*****ds, he was very understanding but said that because they're not UK based. I say we pool together and send the heavies round!
  • I have had five of these bloody calls this evening, one asking for Mr Staurt Apple? whoever that is???
on the third call, out of frustration I told them that the person they were after is no longer alive (don't ask me why i said it?) that i had just heard he had passed away! they phoned again 20 minutes later!
  • I've rung their accountants - they are now called Torus Management and you can reach them on 0116-268-9900 - I have just rung and complained and been promised no more calls!
  • Just found out, if you are registered withy the TPS service you can complaint about this company. Complain at www.ico.gov.uk and go to the complaints form. The company are actually called Torus Marketing as above post.
  • This company is a pain, they are ringing every day, and asking for someone who doesn't live a my address. and today i catched them out, I told them i was interested, then the rep, just gave all the personal details including Address, date of Birth and what debts this person had, ask them for details of this company, got the name then the person hung up.

thanks for the 0116 number i called them and spoke to someone in the uk, she said she would have all the details removed. lets hope that works if not i am going to take it to the police.
