  • raph ~ thanks I am unsure what the vet charges so will ask them before buying, thanks. Well my brother has far more sugar in his diet than me however I have always had a problem with insect bites since I was a child so I am not really that bothered.

babes/gem ~ Seems like we are all off for our holidays in september, I hope the weathers good :rotfl: Hope you get a very good deal babes.

Well I have just been bad :o I just brought 4 new books for £22 from amazon. This means it will be touch and go regarding my soa next month but nevermind I will survive. They are all books I have wanted and I will keep one for my holiday. I will reset up my account with green met though and try and sell some of the ones I have here too. Going to spend some of tonight listing them and hopefully I can make some money from them :D

  • Hey PAP,

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling too well. I seem to keep missing you when you're online, we'll have to catch up soon.

I just wanted to say try not to be disheartened with your efforts in all aspects. You're a tremendous inspiration to a lot of people, especially myself. As you've said previously you're not in debt, you manage your money well and whilst spending £1k in a month might seem a bit scary (because its not really in your habit) you've earnt that money, its not on a credit card, you've not taken out a loan, or not been able to pay your bills. Treating yourself is not something you should feel guilty for in light of how you manage your accounts etc.

You're going great guns with your savings... OK so the idea was to spend for a year but maybe you could do one month saving, one month spending? Best of both worlds there!

Also just wanted to add - From your above post
Anywyas here goes having a good day so far, but maybe if I stop taking my purse to work and stop buying meals/breakfast I will shift it quicker.

Missing meals wont actually help you much in weight loss as your body anticipates being starved so it holds onto fat cells... A lot of people think that by "fasting" they will use up the exces they have in their system but its the opposite, the body will store it for use at a later date.
Best things I can recommend are exercise and drinking plenty of water. One lady I used to work with used to drink a glass of water everytime she felt peckish, if 5 mins after drinking it she still felt hungry she would have a piece of fruit, or some carrot sticks, until her main meal.
The brain sometimes mistakes signals of dehydration for that of hunger. Might be something that could help you feel better too....
Just a thought anyway, hope I've not offended you!

  • Awww thanks so much nycb. I am one that came out the otherside of debt and thats what I am grateful for, however I dont see myself as much of an inspiration :rotfl: but hey I am here and can help all I can... well when I can. I love the idea of spend/save months I think thats will so work. I think you have summed it up with spending so much in a month, it is very very scary so I think doing it every other or every 3 would be better :rotfl:

With regards to skipping meals... no me skip meals ~ never :rotfl: What I mean is everyday I take a packed lunch (which is within calories) but because there is lovely food avalible I always buy that instead of eating my lunch. So I spend money and waste food. So if I keep my purse at home and just take my lunch I will have to eat it :rotfl: With the water thing its so true, I have used that before I always have a 2litre bottle of water per day anyways and usually I am not hungry once I have drank.

Ofcourse you havent offended me hun :A
  • Glad to hear I didnt overstep the mark.... :)

I did wonder after posting if maybe you'd meant you buy something instead of eating what you've got, but just thought I'd pop my 2p's worth in just in case.....

And you are an inspiration, whether you believe you are or not. You're right, you came out of the other side and its shaped (for the better) the way you think about money now, which is a great life lesson!
I wish I had your self control!
