just sending bug squidgy hugs for you. The joy of savings is you have a cushion for days like that and you can be guilt free in a bit of spending! Was craft stuff involved by any chance?!! A break from MSE always does you good sometimes too...hope you feel more yourself soon. How are the cards going? Must do my cj as its unstarted but I do know what I want to do so thats a start! May do some tomorrow! Chuffed that you liked Penny! Mum is coming on Thurs so I can give her the tapestry then!!

Hi all Coucou24.gif back out of hiding. Didnt know if anyones noticed but I havent posted on this board/mse since 21/3 ~ 4 whole days.

I certainly noticed your absence, PaP, but I'm pleased to see you back. :T :T

Seriously though, many of us need, and take, a bit of 'me' time every so often. Sometimes I feel that this board becomes 'addictive' and I have to, physically, stop myself from spending too much time her (I don't mean on your thread, PaP).
So you take as much time as you want - but don't ever leave us for good.

  • isom ~ yes thats very true, but at least its my money and not the banks. No craft stuff not really involved. Cards going fine, just finished a huge order and now back to the usuall. My cj is finished and been waiting for the posting day for over 2 weeks now. Hope your mum like the tapestry.

rog, I did look back on the moozie thread and see you asked where I was. I loved my time away. Not so much to get away from everyone but that I could spent £1.29 on a 200g bag of fudge and not stress. Sometimes watching your money is so obsessive, when it comes down to decided if you spend an extra 3p on non value items it kinda doesnt make sence. I want to live my life not be strangled by my finances.

Pants day at work to the point where I nearly walked out today. Need a reason to stay but cant find one as yet

    Hey Hun,

Just wanted to check in, took me ages to remember you had started a new diary...
Like others I would say dont beat yourself up about spending anything, its your money, you can spend it however you decide.... and you're most definitely right, life is there for living!

Also wanted to let you know I'd replied to your email :)

Pap, fudge is an essential, not a luxury

I noticed your absence too but like others assumed you were busy with Easter stuff. DO NOT beat yourself up about a splurge. Yes, you may feel slightly disappointed if you think about it too much but it is not as if that's the difference in you paying your mortgage this month - you carry on Pap, with your strict budgeting heaven knows you deserve a break from it now and then.

Sorry to hear work is so bad though, I hope it gets better for you :grouphug:

  • cafcgirl ~ huge hugs, decided to stay (kinda) but lets just say you helped me loads and i am changing ~ slowly...

fac, lol @ the fudge but sooo true, damn work selling it all year around :rotfl: regarding the splurge yes I do deserve it and i dont care if i did spend quite a bit of money. I still have loads left though but I will put all that to good use.

isom, I think i have discoved what I want to do and what I am going to do to get there. It will cost money and it will mean me standing up for myself but I think I need to. If i cant change the way I am then no one can. Never had any conselling but good friends really help. :rotfl: @ raph he sooo had do go because one ;) would hate him to stay :rotfl: :rotfl: grrrr

Numpty Monkey, this was my original avi, in the days gone by, then I guess about this time last year I changed to that manga one but I dusted the old penguin back off :rotfl: I think it suits me better :j

Yaaaayh the penguin is back!! :D

PAP you have no debts and are still saving. You are perfectly at liberty to use the rest of your money how you see fit... if that means you spend it on anything you want it is ok. You control your money not the other way round! I'm seriously in awe of your budgeting ability.

Maybe it would help if you gave yourself a (larger) budget to spend as you see fit and kept it in a separete savings account so if you spend it between paydays its ok but if you don't its there to spend on fudge or anything else you want with absolutely no guilty feelings.

Am I right in thinking you have a Halifax account of some sort? They have a savings acc with a cash card so you could transfer in money by standing order and not have to juggle with your current account. This is what I do! I have a fund that I can spend on anything without guilt. It is enough that I can go to the cinema or out for a pub meal with friends or buy a book I fancy - something unexpected and unplanned for. It helps me feel less constrained by living on a budget as I "allow" myself to use it anyway I feel like. Most of the time I don't use it all but it helps me to know its there to be used if I feel like it without feeling bad at blowing my budget.

Sorry... what a long ramble :o

Knowing what you want to do sounds promising... wish I knew what I want to do :o :rotfl:
