rog, I did look back on the moozie thread and see you asked where I was. I loved my time away. Not so much to get away from everyone but that I could spent £1.29 on a 200g bag of fudge and not stress. Sometimes watching your money is so obsessive, when it comes down to decided if you spend an extra 3p on non value items it kinda doesnt make sence. I want to live my life not be strangled by my finances.

Hi Pap - good to see you back - I did try posting yesterday, before work, but my post got 'lost' in the cyberspace (it's probably on a thread in the credit card forum  )
Pap - I understand, fully, what you are saying - we all need a bit of 'me' time now and again - I am trying, myself, to limit my time here, as I am 'up to my neck' in trying to organise my own life, and keeping down this ASDA  job.
Nobody wants to be 'strangled by their finances' and I, personally, think that it matters not one jot if you, or anyone else, decides to spend an extra few pence on a non-value item - the important thing, to me, is that we are more 'aware' of our spending (mostly, and certainly in my case, thanks to the 'Daily Spend' thread that you and moozie started) and that we aren't spending what we don't have.
    Hope that makes sense.
Sorry to hear about your 'pants' day at work - I'm having one of those myself today - was called in at 8 am, to cover this morning, got home at 2 pm, and am going back at 4pm.
So, PaP, just be yourself, and make time for yourself. :A

  • Hiya Hun, haven't been around properly myself for a few days (alas no big spending for me....... well, did spend £600 on a telly, but on behalf of someone else, so now have the money sat in my purse - minus the £20 that OH 'borrowed')
I am intrigued by what ur 'spends' were.... I will keep guessing to myself :) but in all seriousness, I'm glad u don't feel guilty for it... u work hard for ur money in a job that u clearly don't enjoy a lot of the time, so u should feel free to spend it as and when u wish! AS u quite rightly said, u spent ur own money, not the banks or anyone elses! And u do have a very strict budget, so its healthy for u to let ur hair down every once in a while....
Hope things at work improve, and perhaps we will eventually 'bump into each other' at some point later..... I've seen moer of OH this week than I've been on here, and I hardly seen him at all!

Hi Pap, glad to see you back hun and just wanted to echo what others were saying about relaxing about the money you have spent - you're not in debt any more sweetie, your money is yours to do whatever you like with, and you don't need to answer to us or anyone else.

Glad you enjoyed your little break. Take care xxx

  • taka, thumbs up on the penguin then :j I just thought its more me. Thanks for your kind comments, I do love budgetting but lately I think I have this mind set of saving all or nothing and then I blow any spare cash I can get my hands on... which isnt good. I think I do need a higher me pot. I tend to have around £300 left after all my essentail bills and £50 worth of savings, but for some reasdon I want to save another £100 into savings. Yes it is good but i am finding after £10 a week moozies money and £40 game I have harldy anything left. I dont feel I throw my money around and I do think I am quite strict with myself but I cant find a safe middle ground if that makes sense?

regarding the accounts I have a main account (natwest) where my wages are paid and all my essential bills come from, then I have a spends account (natwest) where I transfer all my spending cash for the month. I also have a current account (halifax) for my busniess money, a locked saver (halifax) which matures in sep, a arible saver (halifax) needed for the money in sep to go in and finally I have my isa being moved to halifax as we speak. Using the seperate account methrd does work, when I know when to stop!

isom, Ummm much better, this morning I had a huge rant to one of my work collegues. She isnt close to me but I had to say it to someone and it made me feel much calmer. Keeping that quite for now sorry. Well done on completeing your cj, I will post this on onto you on monday :). The apprentice was well funny :rotfl: thought the task was a bit pants but the first one always is, i prefer the 3/4 day ones. Cant wait till next week ~ raph so has to go :rotfl:

Rog, hugs you sound a little down yourself. You sound like you are rushed off your feet hun. Please take care of yourself... and take your own advice be yourself, and make time for yourself. You are so right about teh daily spends thread, i guess after becoming debt free there is no support group/manual to help you after you are let back into the world of money and havent a clue what to do. I do agree though moozies challenge does help loads. take care of yourself sweetie, you are an amazing man :D

Nothing much to add really... I havent gone to bad really with the finances so its not all lost. I do need to reacess it all but I am waiting for one more deposit and then I can do totals/figures etc and see the ly of the land. So far however all I know is I 'owe' my business account £70 I am not too bothered about restocking my halifax varible savings account. Going to rejoin moozies challenge on sunday and get back on the wagon properly.

Thanks for all your support once again :A

Not much really but I only really needed the glue :o I will be spending up to £80 this weekend though as I want to buy some software for my pc if i ever know what to buy :rotfl:
