I think that you should all stop discussing how to run pirated TomTom software on this unit. Yes, it can do it, but MSE isn't the place to discuss or encourage such illegal practice. All you are doing is bringing the site into disrepute and opening Martin and others to potential legal action.

    Shame on you!

b.t.w. Got mine today for £49.99. Installed the free upgrade to V5 and the new maps, and I am very impressed with its performance. It isn't the slickest GPS navigation software but it is well worth the price.

You should put TomTom on it - it's really slick....read through the thread if you need some tips.
There isn't a smiley on this forum for what I want to say to that :D

Oh no, I have just read through all of these posts to see if anyone has had the same problem as me......
I rec'd my Navigo sat nav today - i had to wait till they got to less than £50 to be able to afford it.
I had a play with it today and the postcode wasnt working correctly - i started to put the code in - it narrowed it down but never found the final destination - i then remembered the upgrade.
I downloaded it onto the PC - i then followed the instructions to delete and copy from and to the SD card.
I now cannot get any postcode.....It does find the address by putting in the actual details rather than the postcode - do i just have to use it like this???
All this talk about TomTom, miomaps and others is very confusing  when you are a complete novice - all i want to do is get from A 2 B ideally using postcodes....
Any help will be much appreciated.
    keep saving

Did you download the new update for turbodog which allows you to do 7 digit postcode? You never deleted anything from the card or anything did you?

Ive just been using a spare card that i had to try to put tomtom etc on, if you look on ebuyer it should give you the link which is free to update

Baby number 2 due April 2010, were having a girl!!! :j
  • As mentioned earlier, this does not come with an AC adaptor but if you have a mobile phone adaptor with a USB jack (such as Motorola) that will work just fine. Fully charged mine in just over an hour.

    Hope this helps.

yes i did delete from the card - after saving to memory stick previously.
As i said it did then work (not using postcodes), however, i have thought there must be a way around this and thought it wise to delete the updates from the card and reinstate the original data.  The sat nav doesnt even go onto navigation now, it just goes to the main menu.

    OOHHHH what have i done???????????????

Don't worry. It's nothing that cannot be rectified. I installed the update on mine and had exactly the same problem. The postcodes would not work.

I deleted the two files and re-installed the original ones that are on the disk that comes with it. I think they were under Backup 1 or something like that.

I've read that the 7 digit postcode thing has a fault on it. The original 5 digit one works fine.

Here are some instructions I found for making the 7 digit upgrade work from someone else who had the same problem:

"I had the same problem with the postcodes vanishing, messed about with it on and off for 3 days.
Then I erased the maps folder from the card: copied it back from the CD.
Then I opened the Maps folder on the card. Then opened the PD folder
I opened the maps folder on the extracted Maps folder(which you should have saved to your desktop). I opened the PD folder. Then dragged the extracted contents across to the open PD folder on the card. Overwriting any with same name.
I now have full 7 digit postcode search.
Contrary to what some people have said: you do not have to enter the town before entering the postcode. Whatever town is displayed, you enter a postcode and the device will display the correct address for the postcode starting with the town."
