When my unit ran out of power I left it to drain for several weeks to test the very thing you mention and it still kept all the settings, however my unit is unlocked so I would not be able to tell you if this applies to a locked unit.0 -
I still don't understand why you feel it a waste of time to run tomtom 6 on this when it is an improvement over the original software you get with it?
Nice of you to offend people by calling them stupid just to try to make your point.
Don't believe it was said in a nasty way. More of a buy right or buy twice sort of argument. Tomtom are releasint no more PPC software it seems - and to get it legally it would cost as much as the cheapest tomtom anyway. Better to spend an extra £40 or so and get the tomtom.0 -

Perhaps sat nav manufacturers should be forced to use the same type of map files and to provide free maps. But I suppose they will continue to tie the maps into their software/hardware to try make you keep buying hardware software and maps etc - and the Government is unlikely to intervene.0

lol...poor scooter, no matter how many times you try to explain it, it falls on deaf ears!
I appreciate your info on this unit, and will probably get a TOMTOM instead0 -
So as I said installing TOMTOM is just stupid when you can have the exact same tomtom maps with other software...
Yeah it's really stupid installing tomtom on this I've been using tomtom on it for about a month and it has got me everywhere I wanted to go with no problems.
I should have continued to using turbodog and got lost, that would have made a lot more sense. :cool:0 -
My compact flash GPS did similar (kept on never getting a lock and kept keeping the incorrect time). Had to open it up and rip out the internal battery to sort it - seemed the battery made it retain the memory and keep the memory in a messed up state so it never got a lock.0

Price has gone up by a tenner now.0

I have just received an email from ebuyer with the Navigo satnav priced at £49.99 for Easter. When you click on the link it takes you to to the product but its priced at £69.99, but maybe I just got the email early so it will be down to £49.99 in a day or so. Certainly worth keeping checking.0
