Wow! Had no idea about the Oyster capping... does anybody know if this includes busses or not??

The oyster capping discount works if u travel after 930am.

    It's currently 3.10 for a zone 1 and 2 travel pass.

And 2.80 for a zone 2 travel pass

And 2.80 for a bus pass. I think they count it as a zone 2 travel pass.

Hope these helps someone. :) I'm loving the savings I'm getting from this deal. Makes my 20quid worth it!

Thanks for the tip off. Just saved me and my girlfriend £24 collectively. Do you have to go to a Underground booth to get your young-persons railcard discount added to your oyster card? Does it have to be a oyster photo card? Cheers.

Yes. They will probably not have a clue what you are talking about, but persist and ask them to check with their manager. They did mine... eventually

No, mine isn't. I've no idea what's to stop me lending my "young persons" oysters to someone else or flogging it. I wouldn't, but I'm sure others would.

My card arrived yesterday. Very pleased with the saving, but gutted this is the last year I can have a YP railcard! (I'm 25).

the good thing about this price is it makes it easier to do the 2 railcard trick... if you're 25 and your birthday is at least 6 months away, you can justifiably buy this now and then buy another one (even if it is full price) the day before your birthday to make it last another year, as you could get 18 months worth of usage and only pay for 18 months (rather than wasting 6 months on the first card).

e.g. a friend's current railcard expires in may and her 26th birthday is in november. if she buys this now, it will cover her for the 6 months from may to november, and then she can buy another one the day before her birthday to stretch it out another year, and still only pay £36 rather than £48...
  • Applied for 1/2 price railcard for my daughter on Sunday evening and it arrived in post Wednesday morning. Very impressed. Passed on information to my niece yesterday and she is now awaiting her card. The only problem I had, and that was down to my own stupidity, was downloading the photo ie wrong size - eventually got there!!!!
