    Hi everyone

We've spoken to National Railcard and as mature students can't apply online sadly they're not able to make use of this offer. National Railcard are looking into making mature students' applications available online in the future though.

    I've updated the top post.

    Andrea :)

if you have a yearly gold card for the underground, you can use it to get 1/3 off, and you can buy a friend or relative a network raicard, which gives the same discount as young persons rail card, for £1.
There is no point buying a gold card just to take advantage of this offer, it cost £1000!

Anyone else having the same problem with it saying that "drivers licence incorrect?" Happens with passport too!

is there any difference between an online purchased railcard and one that you buy in a station? someone told me that an online purchased one is only one card rather than a separate railcard and photocard? can anyone who's got an online railcard tell me what their card looks like please? what personal data does it display?

Hello, can anyone help? I've started to do my young persons railcard application but when i get to the picture bit it says its too big. Does anyone know how i can re-size my picture to the size they require? Thanks

I ordered my card online yesterday and received today! :T

The only personal details on the card is your name.

At top has when the card is valid till, how much you paid, that the card was issued online and finally your name at the bottom and sig on back.

The measurements i used for my photo was 4.5cm height and 3.5cm width same measurements for your passport. I used paint shop pro and just clicked on resize and typed in the above measurements.

I bought my railcard online last year but it expired this Feb and after seeing this offer I went back to the site to check it out again and confirmed the code worked. I signed in and looked over my details briefly, saw my stupid self-taken photo and deleted it then got bored and left the site.

A little while later I got an email from them saying:

"With reference to your recent purchase of your Railcard online, your fee has been refunded. This should show on your account (of the card used for the original purchase) within the next two weeks"

I thought that was a little odd as I hadn't recently bought a card so just ignored it. Checked my bank account this morning and they've paid £20 into my account! :D
  • I signed up for mine online yesterday and it arrived TODAY!
    Now that's service.

My PC is far too old for digital camera/scanner so had to renew and pay full price at Station :(
    Have written and complained though.
    Hello!

I am currently 15. Would this benefit me when I am 16 years old traveling through all the London Zones 1-6 before 9.30 on Saturdays and some weekdays?

    Thanks =)

As mentioned, you can now get discounts on the Oyster card with a YP railcard. There are time limits on travel in the mornings with the YP card-so not sure if it also applies to YP with Oyster.
