I just got a Philips sonicare e5400 marked down in the clearance section to £10 - I think they were around £50 originally. They had 4 or 5 of them in Boots on Glasgow Sauchiehall Street, the girl behind the counter said she's bought one for her mum!

Anyway, my question is: What's more important to you when looking out for bargains? The points or the £££s?

Points or ££££s, when all else is equal? Spend your cash now and save points up on your card in lieu? Or buy less, have less points but more £££s in your pocket?
Id rather have the money in my pocket. I hardly ever pay more than £1 per toiletry item, so if i were to do the soap and glory 400 points thing, id only do it if there was something i needed that i could buy with the 400 points afterwards so it still works out ive got the same amount in my pocket as if id bought it all with cash iyswim?

    Was thinking....

Anyway, my question is: What's more important to you when looking out for bargains? The points or the £££s? For instance, do you prefer a £5 item with 400 free points, or a £5 item reduced to £1, whether with actual cash off or a voucher? Because it seems to me that there's currently less talk of the very good BOGOFs running (which is 50% off, after all, with usually a good choice of products) and more of buys like "Buy Item X for £Y, get Z-00 points back", where the points value is often less than 50% anyway.

Points or ££££s, when all else is equal? Spend your cash now and save points up on your card in lieu? Or buy less, have less points but more £££s in your pocket?

Im in with you on this one. I would rather have the money but if there is a offer where you get more pts back than what your paying and its stuff i use i will happily buy it.

The S&G Clean of England Spa Body Wash (orange one) was reduced in the Oxford branch to £1.25 today! There were none left though  but it may be worth a quick check in other branches.

I bought three of these on Monday for £5 each plus the 400 points  Do you think there is any chance I can get a refund on the difference? I've kept my till receipts!

It was reduced in Arnison Centre, Durham today too! I got two so 800 points, I did leave two behind for other Bootsers but not sure if they will still be there now, the S&G stand there is very small so maybe they will have more "out the back", might be worth a phonecall though. Checked in Marketplace but they were still full price.

    Congratulations and many thanks Crazyposhgal:beer:

Nothing really worth having. Hatboxes were still 9.00 i want one but not if thery are 4.50 else where. If any one is near me and bought one but doesn't want the actual box i would love one.
Loads of S&G gift sets at £7.50 nearly got one but holding out for them to maybe go down again although might be gone soon as the no 7 SA took 4 sets and 4 bottles of champagne for herself then she came back for more telling all the others to do the same as their staff discount would make it next to nothing to pay.

I tried to buy the expert scar cream and use 100pt but SA took one look at it and said no, didn't even try why do i bother.

cut the picture of the bottle of hair thingy off the voucher and it does say any expert product. I:T got the expert soap 87p and got the 100 points added on manually

It wasn't that she thought i didn't have the right product she put her readling glasses on and read it through twice so i got the ''not to be used with any other offer'' speech. she said this is already reduced in price so you can't have points as well.
