I had my Lancome order this morning from .com and was really disapointed with it, but CS has now put it right for me.

I had ordered a couple of brushes from Lancome to get the two GWP.
I was intending to give the handbag GWP to my friend for her birthday, along with the purchased brushes, and keep the Bafta set for myself, also ordered some UR hand cream to get the points.

When I opened the box, the brown paper that they stuff the boxes with, was so tightly packed in there, that the boxes the brushes were in were so battered and out of shape, they looked like they had come from a jumble sale. I wanted to give the present to my friend today and haven't got time to go looking for something else.
CS have said I can return the brushes either to a shop or by post for a full refund or exchange and still keep the GWP to give my friend. I don't want an exchange as it will be too late to give them to her, but I have plenty of things I can add to the GWP bag to make a nice present up.
I will no doubt lose the points I got, but not bothered about that, compensated by being able to keep the GWPs

I didn't get any perfume samples or free shower creme in mine by the way, just a 75p off coupon, perhaps they have run out of it now.

I just used a coupon for 50 points on a 7.50 spend and 100 points for buying an Expert product (the SA had to get someone to manually input that one). I checked my receipt, and it only showed the points for my spend, none of the extra points. I just checked online and it hasn't been updated with even the points from my spend yet.

Will the 150 points show up? What should I do?

Points or ££££s, when all else is equal? Spend your cash now and save points up on your card in lieu? Or buy less, have less points but more £££s in your pocket?

I fall into both camps here. eg. I have resisted buying the S&G to get the points as I would not use it.

But I did take advantage of the Nivea offer because I can make use of those items. I have in the past bought stuff for points that I dont use and learnt my lesson from that, and stopped it.

When the till split offer was on (£5 off skincare) I went for the more expensive items, rather than buying a pack of (free wipes) I felt like I was getting more for my money, and was able to get products that I would not normally have bought as they were 'too expensive' I now have a large stock as a result of that.

Whereas yesterdays deal of spend £10 on a reduced Sanctuary set, get £20+ worth of products + GWP + £6 of Sanctuary vouchers had me digging in my purse for £20 for two sets, because I love Sanctuary.?
    .....
Now I am like you here, the Sanctuary this is the kind of thing I would go for, great value for money and the pts, well they all add up dont they? I intend to get this on my next visit, if there are any left.

I too have a very large amount of pts and hate the fact that a lot of SA ends the transcaction with "And you have £xxx on your Boots advantage card " I get really embaressed as they always comment on the huge amount. OH I have never seen that many before.....I think it's private and dont like having attention drawn to it. Ok its on the receipt so I know how much it is.

On the BOGOF, I do go for these regardless of the points again, so its value I am going for there, but I still get 4 pts per £1 and it all adds up to the final total.

Shopping at Boots is a learning curve, its great building up the points, but we need to spend money to earn them. If we can't afford the money we spend in the first place, well thats the road to problems.

I try to keep this in mind. Points dont really exist. Boots made them up. :T

They can be 'generous' with them as they are nothing to Boots. They dont have a big store room full of them as they do with stock, their 'stock' of points is endless, timeless and cost them not a jot.

We can 'spend' them in their store and they do have a value to us, but only to redeem in Boots. Mr Boots ties us to his store with bargains, pts and very very clever Marketing.

The best way to play him at his own game is to spend the points when we want something instead of giving him more cash in exchange for his invisible points. But we dont. But what the heck, we're only human, not always sensible and we all love Boots Points:j :j

    Thanks to valk_scot for this interesting post:T :T :T

If they don't show up and you want them ring CS. I had to ring them about 10 days ago, as I did 4 separate £10 spends and used an ACM voucher for an extra 75 points on a £10 spend. Although the voucher scanned they didn't appear on the receipt so I rang CS, who very kindly added 300 point onto my card. I was thrown a bit when he asked for my account card number, obviously logged on to my account, and could see what I had purchased though! He couldn't see why the points hadn't gone on so added them on this occasion.

Omg! Im so excited! How cool.

Well, Obviously i would never have won it if it were not for all you fantastic Bootsers so thanks to everyone! :T

Very much deserved Crazyposhgal :A ... Good for you. Many thanks for keeping this thread so tidy and up-to-date :j

Just had a jaunt to Emersons Green and the Mall, Cribbs Bristol

Lots of mags in both and also the 5ml size of JF Hair Serum. Not much left of the Blue range in S&G at Cribbs but plenty of choice in Emersons Green.

Tried to get two packs of the JF Hair masque to use with the £2 till voucher, till bleeped and SA said it wouldn't allow it as the offer doesn't included minis or sachets  ... darn it!! But got the 5mil serum for free at Cribbs with the £2 till voucher.

No offers or reductions in these two branches that I could see .....
