    Hi,

I had a little boots shop today, I have had to curb my boots bargain hunting as I have been spending too much!! I managed to get the free s+g bag no problems, I also found some reduced 17 nail varnish's for 62p each, I grabbed two and the lip glaze. I assumed that it would be 3 for 2 but it didn't take it off at the till. OH made me feel silly for wanting to ask why it hadn't worked so I left it, at least it was only 62p!! Also used a 50 extra points from ACM and got a hair care voucher. Not too bad.

    Was thinking....

I like Boots offers as much as the next woman but I'm also reluctant to spend actual ££££ folding cash on things that I don't really need or want. That's not to say I don't do it, but I do my best not to just buy an offer because it's a bargain! For instance, I've got a good handful of the S&G 200 points vouchers in my purse and know that 400 points back on a £5 item is a very good deal, but...I don't want to spend the £5 to get it. Especially as I'm not that fond of S&G, TBH.

Whereas yesterdays deal of spend £10 on a reduced Sanctuary set, get £20+ worth of products + GWP + £6 of Sanctuary vouchers had me digging in my purse for £20 for two sets, because I love Sanctuary.

Anyway, my question is: What's more important to you when looking out for bargains? The points or the £££s? For instance, do you prefer a £5 item with 400 free points, or a £5 item reduced to £1, whether with actual cash off or a voucher? Because it seems to me that there's currently less talk of the very good BOGOFs running (which is 50% off, after all, with usually a good choice of products) and more of buys like "Buy Item X for £Y, get Z-00 points back", where the points value is often less than 50% anyway.

Points or ££££s, when all else is equal? Spend your cash now and save points up on your card in lieu? Or buy less, have less points but more £££s in your pocket?

Good question and nice to see everyone's take on it.

I'm not fussed either way really as long as its a good buy and its something I will use. I love collecting points but I also love a cash bargain too.

I didnt take advantage of the highlighters as only liked one colour so just got one and didnt make it up to the spend to get the GWP as forgot lol. I had no need for several or lots of GWP so didnt bother.

However, I have stocked up on the premium products for the extra points as I will use these so a better buy for me.

I am hoping to get some of the NO17 vouchers as I like their makeup and need some new lipsticks and nail polishes so that offer is a bargain to me. I also love the S&G so thats another offer that appeals.

On a separate note, congrats re post of the month crazyposhgal.

does anyone know if the NO7 HEATED EYELASH CURLER is worth buying at 4.99?? it has a 2 year guarantee, and im on the lookout for a new eyelash curler......but i want one that works effectively!
    please help

No. I found it rubbish took mine back for a refund this was the last time the no7 vouchers were on. mine was like a stick that heated up and you used like mascara it didn't do a thing. Then i got a heated one in the no7 face sauna and that is like normal eye lash curlers where you trap the lashes in and press, this one is brill and i alway use it if i'm going on a night out.

Thanks to all you lovely people I got some great stuff today.
    I went armed with my
100 pts wyb expert products (plus my half price baby expert coupon just in case, thanks LB)
    200 pts wyb S&G
free 17 lip glaze wyb another 17 product

went to ac mach and printed a 200 points S&G one
picked up a lip glaze, and found 2 lip pencils, as was told here. Didnt need to search bar codes as 2 were marked 99p, Morticia and wild plum or something
Picked up an expert soap at £1.09 (Thanks broclo)
had a look at S&G and no bags there at all. Decided against buying any as wasnt anything I wanted
BUT, I then went over tothe reduced shelf and found a massive S&G body wash 500ml, reduced to £2.50!! Stuck it in my basket
Also noticed lots of natural collection squeezy lip shine reduced for 30p each.
brain worked overtime here; could have sworn I saw 50pts wyb natural collection

Toddles off back to ac mach. yep! Prints 2 of those.

Goes to till, gives in S&G product, expert soap, 2 pencils and a lip glaze, and 2 natural collections
gives in all my coupons, bill comes to £4.97.
    Points total comes to 618!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Whoops!
Turns out the expert sopap was also on offer at 87p, not £1.09!!

    I was well chuffed!!

    Thanks everyone for the nod
