AOL trouble (merged)

Was on AOL for 4 years and had similar problems in the past few months, constant disconnections and being told by there help line to go through all the usual checks which I had done a hundred times. They kept blaming either the BT line, the exchange, the computer I was on and many other things which they had no control over! Finally told them I was leaving them for Virgin Cable broadband. Got a good deal from them for £4.50 a month for 12 months if I took there phone package. Have now got uninterrupted internet access and so far none of the problems which others say they have had with Virgin.0

I'm paying for AOL Silver up to 2megs.
Getting 0.5megs. My line is in good condition. Since the migration to CPW it's all gone t*ts up. I'm off to Sky...I can get much more speeds on an ADSL2+ and ADSL MAX service with them.
The Silver is a non-LLU ADSL 2meg service.
AOL Wireless is a LLU ADSL Max up to 8meg service.
But beware...if you take any cheaper offer off AOL YOU WILL BE TIED INTO ANOTHER 18 MONTH CONTRACT. BEWARE!!!0 -

It's been diabolical of late in terms of connectivity and server problems. I'd go elsewhere but OH wants to keep his internet address. A complaint to member services this morning yielded an offer of next month's access free of charge. Nice try I said, try 3 months and I might consider staying. So next 3 months will be bill-free, but what is causing all the problems? Anyone know?2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0

I too couldn't connect since yesterday afternoon. Don't know what the problem was. This past week has been horrendous. Everytime made/received a phone call our BB closed.

YES YES YES
This whole week it's been tempermntal. Last night no access - port disconnected. No ! this morning me port had apparently reconnected itself.
It's been rubbish lately - they've changed something.0 -
There is deffo something fishy going on, I've had bad access for at least 2 months on and off now. Since this dialbb thing started. One time tech services said there was a migration to carphonme warehouse going on (I don't know what that means), yesterday they admitted there was a server problem (after making me jump through hoops changing settings etc).2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0

I had problems on Tuesday night, but got it sorted on Wed morning with a phone call to them.
Part of the recorded message mentioned about slowness.
My mum's BB has been really slow, but sorted itself out overnight.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
