Had my 2nd NSD in a row which is a major miracle for me:j :j :j I had to steel myself to drive past ASDA on the way home from work.I am quite proud of myself;)"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Well, the kids prefer it with normal rice (basmati), and I have to say, I do too. It's delicious, though I say so myself, but I do use the stock I make up from the roast, so this makes the rice very tasty. The problem is, I have a packet of risotto rice I now cannot use. Grrrr.
You could make rice pudding out of it? My 3 boys love rice pudding...(two sons and their father!)0 -
Not checked in at all this month. I must be more disciplined!!! Had 4 NSD's n a row, so really quite proud of myself. Going to go to tesco tomorrow to use some points vouchers and get my veg etc for the week. Hoping not to spend too much. Hope everyone is doing well and I promise to log on more often.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

We have some venison sausages for dinner tonight..i hope there ok..
Anyone have any opinions on these (and please don't mention Bambi..i feel bad enough already and only got them cos they had a huge yellow sticker on them:o )
My comments: Yum!
I don't mind eating Bambi, Babe or Shaun the Sheep either but if it makes you feel better, deer have the best life of them all....
Oh dear, shame they didn't work out - they're usually lovely!0 -

A nice taste and all, but after getting three mouthfuls of something hard (i assume bone:eek: ) in the first sausage, i couldn't take anymore. DD had the same problem and threw hers away too.
Just had a 'nice' dinner of HM chips and tomatoes.
I feel a nasty letter to the company that makes them coming on:rolleyes:
If you're sending a letter to the company than I would enclose the sausages!! Get them out the bin (I know it's a bit minging) and wrap them in some clingfilm or foil and then they can see for themselves.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £149.19 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -
Purplevamp - spicy bean soup is one of my faves - fancy sharing the recipe??
Seeing as you asked so nicely, here it is:-
1 med red onion, finely chopped
1 small red chilli, sliced (I chopped this to get smaller bits)
1 x 200g chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 x 200g kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 x 400g tinned tomatoes
600ml/1 pt veg stock (I just used 2 stock cubes)
1 tbsp tomato puree
2 tsp fresh oregano (I used dried)
Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
Heat a saucepan and add the onions and chilli and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients. Simmer gently for 20 minutes. Season to taste.
You can either eat it as it is or give it a quick blitz to break up the beans a little to thicken it, which is what I did.
Serves 4, 163 calories per serving, 2.7g fat!! Easy peasey.
It really is delicious so I hope you make it and enjoy it, let us knowMortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £149.19 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -
I would say be careful with the veg oil instead of diesel, if you own an old car maybe it's worth the risk to you but I do know a mechanic who in the one garage have repaired 8 cars last year which needed various things, mainly new engines, due to being ran on veg oil.
£4.23 in the fruit and veg shop just added to my total, 12 days in 23 days left and not looking too bad, £46.45, we are working a lot from the freezer aswell which helps. We're out for dinner tomorrow but it's not my turn to pay for me and I have a voucher for the boys sohoping to keep the spending low.
One day I might be more organised...........

Purplevamp - I've been looking at your signature since we joined MSE and was wondering (if you don't mind me asking) why you are aiming for such a huge deposit on a house?
I've been asked this on here before (I don't mind you asking). We live in the South East and house prices are sky high, I know they are everywhere but here there're just silly. We need a 4-bed house and the ones down here are on average £280K+. Unless we want to live in a skanky area then those are our options. Even ex-council houses are about £230K
