There's no way I could just go into a supermarket without a list and see what's on offer - I'd just buy everything! I need supervision!
No, my only way of getting through this challenge is to only buy what we've decided we need. We're buying pretty much everything fresh and cooking from scratch, and MY GOD is it SO much cheaper!:T
Have only spent £8-odd since starting this on Saturday, so its only been 4 days, but that amount was spent in Sainsbury's - with a list!:A But that shows how I'm getting better with my spending urges, cos DH wasn't with me to make sure I don't overspend. It was only when I realised I'm only cheating myself by hiding spends and fiddling the books that I gained control over it. I'm tired of being in debt, and am determined to get out of it this year, and only grateful it didn't get too bad before I decided to change.Live better on less :beer:0 -
Hello everyone
I am going ok this month havent had time to come on here as much as I like lately work really busy and fighting for PC in the evening with DD15 and DS21 is a nightmare! going to add all my receipts up so far later and update, I think the greatest help with me is menu planning, started my diet yesterday again so that will cut of a few pounds each week money not weight yet! of all the choc bars and crisps I used to get through, Mrs M you are great inspiration to me and I am going to try to follow you way of eating not dieting it certainly makes sense your weight loss is remarkable in such a short time span!
Spag bol for tea tonight will make enough and freeze two extra portions
good luck everyonexxFrugal challenge 2025

MRSMCAWBER, that sounds like a great stuffing - have made sage & onion before (used rice, onion sage IIRC) and have made my own dumplings without suet too (forget that receipe offhand) made both of these to compare to standard shop-brought ones. I loved my own, my OH preferred shop-brought!0

Hi All,
First spend of the month yesterday - £1 for a loaf of bread! We have a Tesco Delivery coming tonight which should come to about £70 hopefully so I think I'm on target so far this month(£80/wk or £320/month). I'll update later with the actual spend. Keep up the good work everyone. :T

Popped into co-op this morning after dropping DD off at playschool. It's not a shop I go in and it's one of the small ones that are really expensive, but it's on the way home and get me out walking. Only went in for banana's, satsumas, apples and bread. To my delight the satsumas and apples were whoopsied
. So spent £2.65. Sig updated. Hope everyones having a good day

Good afternoon, it's taken me over an hour to catch up! I've not got much else on today as I'm waiting in for a joiner, of course it would be the day that the water's been turned off for maintenance work.
A small up date of £5.15 on Saturday on various bits and pieces. I did buy some Easter eggs, the 99p ones from Tesco but I'm not including in my grocery budget.
Off work this week, yesterday was spent catching up on the housework and I made some lovely hm rolls for our chicken burgers last night. Got the bm going at the moment to make some garlic bread to have with pasta. Will need to pop out later for some milk.
In money saving style I've made an appointment for tomorrow at the local college to get my hair cut for £5 instead of the usual £25 haircut. Frugality is becoming a lifestyle! Keep up the good work everyone!

Hullo, I'm back again this month with a budget of £100 for two large and hungry adults. This does not currently include lunches but I will be trying to squeeze lunches for me out of it by making them at home. It also doesn't include non-groceries like washing up liquid and laundry stuff. There is a separate £15 budget for that. Will keep track of it as well.
Really need to save some of the budget this month since we overspent on holiday. It was a lovely holiday though.
Am planning to make a supplies list today and then a monthly plan so I can get this month's stuff in tomorrow.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)
2019 Challenges: Make £300 a month: £9.71/£300 (January)0
