Mardatha have you tried putting chocolate in the freezer, I do and only take out a small amount each day, just enough to sort out the cravings.
sigh. yes. I used to dip it in my tea to melt it faster....:rotfl:

Hi all hope youve had a good week.

My ds1 came with me to help and i ended up buying him a safe, which he said he needed to keep his own things away from the younger ones (he is nearly 14).
Any way i shouldnt have bothered as when he got it home the younger children were trying to get in it my no 1 son hid the keys.........in the safe:rolleyes:
Now he cannot get in the safe

My DH got paid yesterday so i'm starting the challenge from then (as i do all my bills from the 24th of the month).

I normally save £70 per week for food/toiletries etc but always fail to keep to this limit...so here goes...the challenge i've set myself is to actually keep to the £240 ( it's a 4 week month).

    Wish me luck.

    Hi

I have been reading this thread over the weekend and I can't wait to get started on Friday!!

I am sure having a budget will make me think more about what I buy and I am positive it will help with weight loss as well. For money saving and weight loss it's all about portion control, so I think having a budget might hold the answer to both my problems!!

I am not going to spend much at all until Friday, but on Friday I will go to Asda a few miles away to do a monthly shop of sorts. Basically it's all the things I need for the month that I can't get at the Aldi in our town. I shop at Aldi once a week. I aim to send my OH to do any top up shopping away from the weekly shop as he will only get what's on my list (unlike me!). I also call at our local farm shop on a Monday morning to get milk (the cheapest around here and from local cows) and free range eggs. But on a Monday they also reduce any leftover meat which I buy up for our freezer (no matter how little we have to spend, I will not buy supermarket meat). Any other meat I need will be bought from our local butcher, as and when.

Well, that's the plan, just raring to go. Bring it on...........

    Morning everyone,

NSD yesterday, didn't want to go out in the snow!!
I've now officially finished March, was over budget by £27.67, which is not too terrible.

I've amended sig to April challenge at £240 again (even though I think it's a longer month).

Tesco shop due to be delivered this eve, will add to sig when I get the final bill. It's mostly non perishables as I decided to get these all monthly so they'll not be much to make meals with. Have to go top-up shopping at some point this week too.

Good luck to everyone for April and well done to everyone for March.

    Good morning everyone:hello: .

My challenge finished last thursday. I would like to declare £178.12 as my spend for the last 4 weeks. So only just under budget.

Mrs Mc could you please put me down for £210 for April. (21st -25th)
Like a few other people on here I get paid every 4 weeks so have decided to have a 5 week month or else I will be 1 month in front of everyone else:rolleyes:

Went to MR T's after work yesterday for some fruit and toilet roll. Spent £5.93.
    Signature updated.
There was plenty on the reduced shelf but I resisted as our fridge and freezer are both full.;)
Plus there were so many people crowding round the reduced section I doubt that there would have been much left.
