I started April on Thursday when I got paid. Trying for a lower budget of £40 this month but I think it's gonna be tough - already spent £18.70 though I did get quite a lot for that. Today I discovered that when my local Tesco has been shut for the day there are some brilliant reductions - unfortunately I think it only shuts on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day!! :rolleyes:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Hi,
does it really not have any cheese in?
weezl x
Hi weezl,if i make lasagne I don't put cheese in the sauce ,just nutmeg then cheese on top, still tastes good and no-one seems to notice it's less cheese, veryMSE!
HM pizza for lunch today, haven't had them since I don't know when.
Thanks all for good ideas

If you want to show off the non cheese version is known as bechamel and the with cheese version is called mornay sauce. Both are staples of classic french cuisine - so v. posh as well as being frugal.April Grocery Challenge: £250/£127.530

And if you make the roux and use stock instead of milk -for chicken pies etc..its called Veloute :rotfl:
Mrssnowy..that is how i make lasagne.. and find its much lighter and less greasy too... i think most recipes i have seen do it that way....:T
I also make a lighter version.... trying to reduce the weight you know
i thicken warmed milk with cornflour..cooked long n slow to cook out the starch and then add som own brand Philli style cheese, mustard n seasoning nomnomnom
