coconut was 11p in our asda - bought several packs hence ther overspend.

LAst night i sat and did my meal planner for April - have enough food in for 6 weeks worth of meals !! This means i should only have to but fruit, veg, milk, cheese, yogs, bits for packed lunches etc so I WILL come in on budget this time - although i do spend a lot on milk with 3 children.:D

Then I had this thought, 'ooooh, they could be my friends from the OS board!' so then I felt much more kindly disposed to them!

What a lovely way to think of it. I did notice that when I was in Boots with all my vouchers and was working out how to do the 'pay next to nothing' thingy that another girl was grinning and was stood with her OH too doing exactly the same with her handful of vouchers too and her 'shopping list'. There was definitely a moment of 'sisterhood' there. :D .... and I noticed the husbands exchange sympathetic glances to each other. :p

    Hi,
Had to spend £2.29 on reduced sausages and Flora over the weekend and so my total is now £91.15.
I shouldn't need to buy anything until at least Saturday (hopefully longer) and so am now declaring for March at £91.15 - £8.85 under budget:T

Have had a really tight month so I'm really pleased that I've managed to rein myself in a bit and have enough in to hopefully last at least a week into the April challenge!

    Off to update my signature
Oh, and MRS M please put me down for £100 for April
    Thankyou!!!

Spent £41 (excluding eggs which were from my personal money) which hits my GC on the head although I may have missed a few odd pickups when I've been out at lunch. Was aiming for £150 and was doing wel until OH came shopping with me!

Aiming for £175 again next month until I can get under it. (We're away three of the four weekends next month which should help!)

Hi candygirl have you tried Lidl's equivalent of Jaffa Cakes - they are scrummy and the orangey bit is thicker and more orangey - must pick some up this week now;)

I will try to catch up on all of these pages and then update Sig later as March finishes for us tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for all the tips and recipes.

    Hi Mike,

I did my comparison on USwitch and Moneysupermarket as instructed by Martin (follow red Insurance link at top of this page) and then made a note of the few top/cheapest suppliers and the particular tariff - then went to Quidco to see if those companies offered cash back. It is worth doing, as company A may be £2 cheaper than company B, but company B offers £x cash back - making them the best bet.
If you get substantial cash back, it is worth switching even if the bills are no cheaper at all.... SP, Npower, e.on and British Gas have the most cashback at the moment.
If none of these are any good for you, if you do switch to another company at least you can do it through USwitch (£12) of Moneysupermarket(£20) through Quidco - ie from the Quidco page.
Sorry if I am ranting, I am a bit obsessed with cash back at the moment!!

    Good luck with this!
Thanks Sarah, I can see where you're coming from. However although they give a cash for E-on there is more to choosing a supplier than just the price. Scottish Power is one of the last to raise their prices and also their customer service is fantastic. You always get a person and not a computer asking you to press loads of buttons whilst being subjected to naff music. Also their online billing and usage notification is easy to use and understand. I've been with SP for around 4 years now and am loth to move particularly as they are still the 2nd cheapest supplier on the market.

Sorry folks if this is not a subject for this thread.

    Love theFM
