forgot to mention - i saw a few of you discussing gas/electric bills. How do you get them so low??? thats my next mission....... my monthly bill is horrendous. very old house, no wall insulation etc so difficult to keep warm. Half my windows are now double glazed the others have to wait while i save up and half the loft done, rest waiting to be finished this year. Any suggestions gratefully received. Oh and im on monthly DD with scottish power.

Not that I do this at all
:rotfl:one time I was at local asda and a big cluster of women were round the reduced section. At first I was in a grump with them for being in my way.
Then I had this thought, 'ooooh, they could be my friends from the OS board!' so then I felt much more kindly disposed to them!
DH thinks I'm mad.

Funny you said that about thinking they were other people from this board.
As I was going into the supermarket yesterday there was a couple coming out and the woman was telling her OH about how much they had saved on the "whoopsies". That made me wonder which one of you it was?:rotfl: :rotfl:'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and hope going back to work for those that do isn't too depressing.Mortgagefreeforme wrote: »Girl least likely to Asda dessicated coconut is approx 23p pkt on rollback just now, I stocked up the other day.
Thanks for the heads up on this. Only problem is I'm not sure what to use it for? OH doesn't like coconut other than in Naan bread, which I made and it wasn't nice enough for me to do again. What can I use it in that wouldn't be too overpowering? So no recipes for that pink and white coconut ice please :rotfl: .
I wasn't gonna go shopping today but OH has come down with man flu so I have to replenish the stocks of cold & flu stuff that I had over the weekend. Also I've realised I need some fruit for DD. I'll try and get at little as possible.............:rolleyes:0 -
Not managed to catch up with the holidays and will try to read back when I've got a bit more time. Need to confirm that I've blown the budget this month - oops. Think I'm about £30 over and still have a week left to go, so that could be fun.
Hope everyone's doing a bit better than me :rotfl:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
I'm going to make Toxic Lemon's chewy healthy bars and these call for dessicated coconut. They sound lovely:DThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Hiya all.
I have been very good, and very bad:
Very good - I have managed to stick to my goal of reading this thread :j .
Very bad - I have managed to go over budget, and we have to wait until Friday before the next one starts  .
I might be able to go without buying anymore food, and we have run out of dishwasher - do you think it is wise for me to try and avoid buying anymore. If you agree, I'll tell DH that you guys encouraged me :rotfl: .
Notwithstanding, at least I am not throwing money away left right and centre.
Best of luck to everyone else in the last throws of this budget.0
