Well, I had to pop into Sainsburys  finally as it was the closest to my mum's this morning. But very pleased as only spent £14.57 - in the old days it would have been closer to £50 for a pop in!
Got the condensed milk for the millionaire's shortbread - £1.20!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also picked up ground rice - and there seemed to be a bit of a run on ground rice...:rotfl:is that you guys?!
Jackie, re the rice: I think Delia does a lovely chicken and rice dish she bakes in a lidded casserole. Very meaty and very tasty.

    Hi jackie_W

    My turkey meatballs were:-
    • 400g minced turkey
    • 50g fresh breadcrumbs
    • 1 onion chopped -and zap through the microwave to soften
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds -walloped with the pestlr n mortat
    • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
    • salt and pepper
just whack it all together and mix.. mine made 25 small meatballs... mind that still did 2 meals for me n hubby plus leftovers for me :p .. going to add grated carrot and apple next time ;) so that should make 3 meals each :rotfl:
I shove them in the fridge to firm up and have never had them break up.... if you like you can drop a bit of the mix into a dry frying pan and cook so you can taste its OK....

    Tzatziki...
    1. greek yoghurt
    2. cucumber -grated or finely chopped -pop it on a teatowel and wring out the moisture
    3. a crushed clove of garlic -if you like it
    4. a bit of seasoning
    5. and i like some fresh chopped mint in there
just mix it all together and leave in the fridge to develope -hubby uses any leftover with home made bread sticks... speaking of which i had better go and get some made... keeps him away from salted peanuts ;)

    hope that helps

Can't remember who asked.. but my NSDs are of the "not spent a cent on anything" kind too.... I now know that i will clock up 9 in a row as im not shopping on a saturday and everywhere is closed on sundays here... :j

when you all say a NSD is that just no spend on grocries? Or you bought say some cigs but because its not in grocery then you still had a msd as you bought no food. if you get me?

I think it depends if you count cigs in your grocery budget. Its up to you what you include, but if you include cigs and buy, then its not a NSD.

But, if they're not in your budget, hmmmm  I personally wouldnt call it a NSD. Like yesterday, I went to the post office and spent £7.50. Thats not covered by my grocery budget, but I still wouldnt say I had a NSD because I did spend, even if it wasnt on groceries. Does that make sense???

I have a quick question about the Brownies if anyone can help? Been in the oven for about 45 minutes and they're still gooey in the middle (as in not done). I've followed all cooking instructions - did anyone elses have to be left in the oven for longer than the recipe stated (25 mins). Helpppppp ! lol

jtb - everyone's oven is different and you tend to get used to how your oven works. 45 mins does seem very long though. Have you have it serviced recently?

skintscotslass - oven hasn't been working well for ages now. I'm getting new cooker in a couple of weeks and think i'll just have to wait until then to cook another batch. The one on the outside are fine - delicious ! Just the middle is a bit more gooey than it should be. Might pop the middle ones back in the oven for a bit. Thanks for all your help (mumzy and scotslass) xx

I'm going to have to do another small shop this weekendb (where does all my food go?!!!).

Does anyone know when the best is the time to go to Tesco for reductions at the weekend? Would there be stuff around saturday evening or should I wait till sunday do you think?

Thats a brill idea! I keep thinking of buying 100 all at once from tesco with my shop BUT i dont like parting with £20 all in one go LOL even though i spend more over the week buying them everyday.

Maybe thats what you need to start doing? It might give you an added incentive. Have you tried using The Demotivator? It's under tools on the right hand side of the page.
