Succumbed to the temptation of the fish van! I bought 2 haddock fillets, 1 smoked haddock fillet and 1 peppered mackerel all for £5.50. I looked at 2 manky haddock fillets in Tesco today, but wasnt prepared to pay nearly £4 for such rubbish.
So for tea tonight, I am having a big treat! Fish and chips a la Rosemary Conley. Haddock fillet, dipped in egg and then toasted granary breadcrumbs. Sweet potatoes par boiled and finished in the oven without fat. Peas and a 'tartare' sauce made from yoghurt, lemon juice, capers and parsley.
DD is having a sleepover tonight and I got whoopsied pizza for them last night. This will be after the chocolate cake she made earlier I suspect lol.0 -

OMG can't believe how quickly this thread is growing - just logged on to update my Sig as I'm half way through the month as Payday is the 27th, spent £187.86 so far out of my £300 and both freezers are full so should come in under budget hopefully although with Easter weekend next week and the kids being off School we shall see. Not had a chance to read through all the pages thoroughly but looks like there are some more tempting recipes and thanks to those who have posted them - looking forward to trying the Meatballs next week and want to try the Tortillas.
:T A special thanks to MRSMCAWBER as you are full of soooooooo many good ideas and always quick to come forward with advice. :j Congrats also on the NSD's - this is something I need to seriously think about, one step at a time and shall concentrate on that more next month. Also, congrats on the weight loss, I'm sure you are an inspiration to loads of people. I know you've inspired me to get back into the Kitchen and get on with some more cooking & baking.
Off to watch Sport Relief now to get some motivation for Sunday when we are all off to London to run the 1 mile on the Embankment. Have a great weekend everyone.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.
