I think you put the tomatoes through a sieve, to get rid of all the skin...i think im right. maybe someone could tell us if they know?

The skin has already been taken off the toms so it's just the seeds that would need to be sieved? Don't know whether I can be bothered :D. Might not bother then I can't compare it to a sieved one

    Unless anyone persuedes me otherwise..........
  • Just got back from Mr's M's and ended up spending £17.97 :(. I didn't get anything that wasn't on my list, only I bought a bottle of stardrops that I hadn't need to, I got home and had 2 bottles already!

This leaves me with £62 for the rest of the month. I've meal planned for next week and I think I have enough in the freezer for the week after so I really hope I won't go over. I'll be really pleased if I do it as it's been a 5 week month, and if I stay within budget it'll mean I've spent an average of £40 a week which is brilliant for me. It's better than when I use to spend twice as much and that was without DD :D

    Hi Folks.

Thank you all so much for all the recipes, my recipe book is now at 19 pages and counting. I also have folders on Delia's website and BBC Good Food, but they are a bit fancy and complicated. In addition I often look at the Ready, Steady, Cook site if I or my DW fancy anything after watching the programme.

Didn't manage to get to the shops yesterday so we had Fish, chips and peas for dinner. Can't be bothered today either so I'll make a pie and more chips and peas.
I think I'm losing the will to live :D.

    Love the FM

I have a quick question about the Brownies if anyone can help? Been in the oven for about 45 minutes and they're still gooey in the middle (as in not done). I've followed all cooking instructions - did anyone elses have to be left in the oven for longer than the recipe stated (25 mins). Helpppppp ! lol

when you all say a NSD is that just no spend on grocries? Or you bought say some cigs but because its not in grocery then you still had a msd as you bought no food. if you get me?

My understanding of NSD is a completely No Spend Day, as in not spent a single penny in any way, shape or form. Day 7 for me today after getting so much from Mr T last week and the direct debits all off last week. :j Trying reallu hard to live off what's in stock, cooking with available ingredients, homebaking, plenty of soup and the freezer still bulging. I know we aren't even halfway through this month yet but I really want to come in within budget so I can see the difference over the entire year. Last year I counted cigs in with my grocery shopping, so that's where I have been able to save nearly £40 a month right away :)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I think the same as you also a nsd to me is a no spend day which with me smoking never happens!

Hi Mumzy .... I've got them out of the oven now and they're a bit better. (we're wobbling like a bloomin jelly when I first took them out:rotfl: !) I've got a gas oven and I don't think it 'performs' as well as it used to. Just about to cue them up now they're cooler and have a ikkle taste before the kids get home from school :D

Weez174 - how about using the sugar/salt mix for cosmetics? If you mix with a little olive or almond oil and a couple drops of essential oils it makes a nice face and body scrub? I use some grapefruit oil which is very refreshing :)
