    Hi A,

    Welcome to MSE.

TBH, I'm not sure what you want people to say. You obviously have a brain, so you know that what you need to do is increase your income and decrease your outgoings.

In terms of increasing your income, look around this site for ideas. I think you know how to decrease your outgoings - stop going out, start cooking rather than eating out etc.

With all respect, you really need to start taking responsibility for your actions. Once you are a Trainee Sol, you will not be able to run to your dad everytime something goes wrong.

I know someone who is doing their LPC and working twenty hours a week. It is not easy, she has time for nothing else, but she doesn't have her rent or an allowance being given to her each month, so they have no choice.

I didn't say that you are running to your dad now, but you have been up to now. I'm not being cruel, but just saying that in the real world, the possibility of that back up (even if you don't want to use it) will not be there.

There is nothing anybody can tell you that you do not already know yourself. I still don't really understand what you want people to say?

seems like u live by the bank of dad...
u rely on him for wiping/helping with ur debt.

u get £200 a month off him... for what exactly??
    do u pay rent?!
do u have a job?? if not why?
cant u work flat out during holidays? summer work is rife with temp agency work. u can make a decent full time wage over 3 months.
sell ur car unless u really need it... and it doesnt sound like u do...

what truely amazes me tho if ur at least 22 and STILL receive pocket money???? no wonder ur in deep debt...

these handouts show u have no value of money, from earning to spending, on necessities and then the disposible money after that...
you need to stand on your own two feet for once or u will spiral out of control.... or maybe not as theres always bank of dad...
  • learn from your mistakes. no point beating yourself up over money that has been spent.

Why not post an SOA (see the stickies in thedebt freewannabe forum) as unless people know what you are spending on they can't help you.

by the looks of it you have £1900 debt? this is not a lot for a post-grad - think yourself lucky! I had 10k student loan and am still paying it off 6 years later. If you get the job you are training for you will have yours paid off in no time.

If it is that you feel guilty for cadging off your da then promise yourself that you will pay him back or treat him in some way when you can afford it.

  • Is £200 a month for food.living.partying... thats not a great amount... my parent give me sweet F A and I get more than that (Work/Loan)

If I were you ... dont lets your dad pay it off... people will just think your a spoilt so-so (from experience)

DO you need the car to get to work/class?

Can you afford a few hours here and there (Think about all the time you watch telly and do nothing... add it up)
Claimed back bank charges - Jan 08 (Despite Court case!) :money:

Really want to win a car :)

Beating yourself up is good, if it stops you doing it again!

Pity you cannot get a part time job.
  • unless you actually list your incomings and outgoings there's not a lot people can suggest to help. is the £200 your dad gives you your only income? what do you spend it on? how much is your rent etc?
