Hello everyone
I am relatively new here so please be kind!
I am an NTL customer for over a year. I pay £17.99 for unlimited broadband connection and a further £30 + for a phone that is free evening and weekends. It is called talk unlimited package.I have read a couple of forums and i feel i am being taken for a ride that i can ill afford.
Please can anyone help, as i have tried to access the NTl site to no avail. Also, i make alot of calls to the republic of ireland. Any advice?
I have read the forums but, some of the packages discussed are very different to my own and i feel a bit confused with the mass of info.
Please help :A

Best thing is to read this thread and then make that call
Posters in this thread have phoned NTL and been very successful in getting their packages reduced by saying they are going to leave and go with BT.0 -

Broadband = Plus.net = £14-99 2mg unlimited, very well rated.
Phone = JustDialSaver, free evening and weekend calls, and other call charges good too.
Join 18866 or 1899 for peak calls.
Line rental £10-50 BT
Saving to your monthly outlay £22-50
Hope this helps
PS forgot line rental now ammended.A fool and their money are easily parted.0 -
There is no line rental included in that suggestion though0

Thanks. I am relly disappointed in NTL. Feel really ripped off. I am really grateful for all the tips.
Will definately changing.....cant beleive that they treat 'valued customers ' this way!0 -
The thing is i only really need the phone and the BB. What do you think i should be paying???0
-
The other think is, if i dont go on the 3-2-1 (as i dont want the Tv) can i still use 1899 /18866.
:-)
Feel really nervous about making the call.......feel like they are going to trick me into a bad deal!0 -
All companies will always offer the best deal to new customers as they depend on existing customers' apathy. The point behind MSE is being a savvy consumer and getting that deal on all your utilities.
Go through the thread and note down what other people have got as their deal, have a note of what you could be paying by going to BT and using a freeview box and someone else for bb and make the call. No-one can predict what any customer service person will offer you, all you do is say thank you I might consider that offer. They really aren't in the business of "tricking" people but will make an offer if they think you are serious about leaving.
In other words, be prepared, don't just go on the phone saying oh well fine0 -
Current thread here regarding NTL broadband charges at the moment and the deals people are being offered0

Thank You. The problem with me, is i feel a little overwhelmed with all the information and i hate the inital feeling of having to "make the call". I desperately need to get the best deal, and feel under pressure.0

Right girl, sitting about here reading about it won't get the phone call made!
Do it now and come back and tell us what they offer you, don't take the first offer tell them you will call back after you have spoken to OH, hubby, Dad etc and once we know what the offer is we can then tell you if its a good one or not.
No-one else can do it and once you make the first call to reduce your utilities the second will be easier0
