Lady tell them staight, all you want is BB and phone package nothing else, and whats their best price for that as you have done your homework and have got a great price from other companies. Dont tell them when they ask what price you have been qouted tell them no you give me YOUR best price. Dont think they will get anywhere near £25-50 as i suggested, if they do bite their hand off.

Hello...........i just got in from work and i made the call.
They have offered me a reduction on the Talk 24 plan to £10.50 inc call baring facility and the broadband £9.99 = £20.49 per month.

    What do you think???

I would say its pretty impressive especially if there are calls included in that price! Let us know if there isn't as we can then point you in the direction of making cheaper calls through 1899.

Other thing is how long are they offering you this deal for? If its less than 12 months, hold out for the 12 months!

That wasn't too bad, was it? :D

    hi,
Youre right not to bad. Thank you for the advice. Fingers crossed that the deal is 'that good'! Apparently, it is weekend and evening calls to uk landlines free for £10.50 inc call barring for blocking mobile calls.
The broadband is £9.99 for 1 mb...much better than £17.99 for the same thing.

Just looked at 1899 and 18866. I make quite a few calls to Republic of Ireland you see. If you use these providers do they charge you for registering. I was wondering, if they do...dont want to be paying for something i dont use! Also, can PAYG mobile users use these???

Thanks again........for giving me the confidence to ring!

You're more than welcome, have a thank you for making that call ;)

As an NTL user you are cheaper to register with 1899 and you only pay for calls actually made so no monthly charge.

Sometimes 1899 tell you they are full to capacity at the moment and to try and register another day. If that happens register using your mobile number and then once accepted add in your landline number. Use 1899 for any calls you make through the day that aren't covered by your free calls. One thing to check though with NTL, is it all calls at the w/end and evenings or just to other NTL subscribers?

Thanks...feel much better now that i have done it!
Was shocked it was so easy....no real questions asked. Still feels too good to be true so, i am going to call agian tomorrow and check it is all he said it would be.I have got his name, so i know who to blame! (ha ha :-) )

I think i will take the leap and sign up with 1899..thats if they will have a PAYG mobile???

Thanks once again, its nice to know that there are some helpful people out there.

Lady glad your sorted, sounds a good deal to me, your broadband package you need to make sure they havent reduced your speed or reduced your unlimitted downloads to a limit. As for 1899 as i use 18866, 18866 are 1p cheaper than 1899 for calls to 01 and 02 numbers 2p connection fee compared to 1899 3p charge, but mobile calls on 1899 are 2p cheaper per minute weekdays but a conection fee 1p dearer, and the same price at weekends but again 1p connection dearer. I added my daughters mobile number to my account on 18866 but when she used the service her mobile company charged her aswell, (O2 payg ) so this may not be the way to go regards using your mobile with 1899 or 18866.

    Regards Coolsteel ;)

coolsteel, the reason I suggested 1899 to lipsticklady as she is with NTL the calls are slightly cheaper for UK 01/02 at 0p a minute compared to 0.5p a minute with 18866.

As a BT user I personally use 18866 and 1899 for the odd mobile or international call when its cheaper than 18866 ;)

Any cable customer using 18866 and 1899 have slightly different per minute rates to BT customers although the connections charges are the same, plus they have to use a longer pre dial number.

You will find the rates for cable customers on the home pages of both 18866 and 1899 ;)
